    摘要: A material for producing a pad cover molding polyurethane, comprsing a polyol, an isocyanate and an urethane reaction retarding catalyst comprising a tertiary amine blocked with an acid such as formic acid, said material containing neither any fluorocarbon nor any chlorofluorocarbon. The polyurethane material according to the present invention is capable of molding a non-foamed or sparsely foamed lacuna-free pad cover although the material contains neither any fluorocarbon nor any chlorofluorocarbon.

    摘要: A pad for an air bag device comprising polyurethane material having elongation ratios of 60% or more at 85.degree. C., and 40% or more at -35.degree. C., respectively. The polyurethane material is obtained through reaction of isocyanate mainly formed of diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polyether type polyol with molecular weight of 3,000-8,000 and the functional group number of 2-2.5, and the diol type cross-linking agent with molecular weight of 110 or less.

    摘要: The knee protecting airbag device is assembled such that a retainer and an attachment bracket clamp the peripheral portion of a gas inlet opening of an airbag, bag holding wall parts of a case, and a gas providing inflator. This inflator is provided with a diffuser for covering the gas discharge port of a body. The retainer and the attachment bracket are connected by inserting bolts and connecting members through the airbag and the case, by retaining retaining portions on the retaining portions of the connecting members, and by inserting the bolts into through holes and fastening them with nuts. At this connecting time, guide portions of the retainer and the diffuser are fitted on each other to form a guide passage for guiding the gas into the airbag.

    摘要: An air bag mounted in an automotive steering wheel and having a bag body and flow regulation fabric mounted within the bag body. The bag body includes a front panel and a rear panel and is a horizontally symmetrical, planar bag body. The front panel is provided with a gas inlet port. The flow regulation fabric branches from the gas inlet port into radially extending right and left passages that run to the outer fringes of the bag body. Circumferentially extending passages of the flow regulation fabric extend from the front ends of the radially extending passages along the fringes of the bag body vertically, and are each provided with upper and lower opening ends at which gas can be ejected toward the vertical centerline of the bag body. Upon expansion, the air bag quickly enters between the occupant's abdomen and the rim of the steering wheel.

    摘要: In a knee protecting airbag device (M1), an airbag (26) folded and housed below a steering column (3) is expanded and inflated while rising from the lower side of the steering column (3) along a column cover lower surface (9a) during an inflation process. The shape of the airbag having completed the inflation is in a generally plate shape capable of covering at least the lower surface of the column cover. Even if the knee of the driver comes close to the column cover when the driver depressing a brake pedal, therefore, the airbag being expanded and inflated goes smoothly into the clearance between the knee of the driver and the column cover lower surface. The airbag having completed the expansion and inflation protects the knee of the driver properly so that the knee may not interfere with the column cover.
