    摘要： Certain embodiments provide a display device a plurality of subpixels arranged in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to form a matrix, and each having an aperture provided with a color component; and an optical controller provided to be opposed to the display device having a plurality of rectilinear optical apertures extending in the second direction are arranged in the first direction. A shape pf the aperture in the subpixel is depending upon a condition that the apertures in the subpixels adjacent to each other in the first direction have a nonoverlapping region which is a nonoverlapping region in the second direction and a condition that an aperture ratio indicating a ratio of the aperture to the subpixel in length in the second direction is substantially constant in one line in the second direction irrespective of a position in the first direction.

    摘要： A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes: a plane display device including a display panel formed of pixels arranged in a matrix form and an image display controller controlling an image displayed on the display panel; an optical plate including a plurality of lenses provided in front of the display panel and controlling light rays illuminated from the pixels; a display mode selector selecting one of stereoscopic image display and two-dimensional image display as a display mode; an analyzer analyzing image information contained in a two-dimensional image displayed based on a display information and determine whether to process the two-dimensional image when two-dimensional image display as a display mode be selected; and an image processor processing the two-dimensional image based on a result of the analysis conducted by the analyzer, sending the processed two-dimensional image to the image display controller, and causing the image display controller to display the processed two-dimensional image on the display panel.

Each of the double refraction prisms has a ridge in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and arranged in the first direction with a pitch which is substantially twice a lens pitch in the lens array, and has double refraction in which a refractive index in a ridge direction is different from a refractive index in a direction perpendicular to the ridge direction.

    摘要： A two-dimensional image can be displayed in a desired position, a desired aspect ratio of the display image can be maintained, and such an elemental image array as to maximize an interpolating effect can be produced. A producing method of an elemental image array for three-dimensional image display includes: converting the resolution of the two-dimensional image into substantially the same resolution of a three-dimensional image display device; obtaining multipoint images by shifting the position to sample the two-dimensional image after the resolution conversion at regular intervals in the horizontal direction; and rearranging the multipoint images according to the positional relationship between exit pupils and projecting directions.
