摘要: An image processing system capable of processing different types of information includes a reproducing device for reproducing information stored in a medium. Discrimination apparatus discriminates whether the information reproduced by the reproducing device is image information or another type of information which is different from image information. Then, a conversion device converts data which indicates an attribution of the another type of information into image information when the discrimination apparatus determines that the information is the another type of information. Preferably, the discrimination apparatus can discriminate between image information, voice information, and digital information.

摘要: Provided is an image processing apparatus that improves the accuracy in ACS determination without needing a mechanism to detect an original document size, a user input of an original document size, or pre-scanning of an original document, and a control method therefor. To accomplish this, the image processing apparatus specifies, when reading an original document, the size of the original document, based on the timings at which the leading edge and the trailing edge of the original document that is conveyed were detected. Furthermore, the image processing apparatus determines whether image data read from the original document is a color image or a monochrome image, for each size of a plurality of standard-size printing medium, and selects, from among the determination results, a determination result obtained by performing determination using the standard-size printing medium size that is similar to the specified size of the original document.

摘要: [Object] A monitoring device for precisely taking out light for a monitor and having a simple structure and able to be made compact is provided. [Means for Resolution] A lens array 17 is attached to the tip face of an optical fiber array 12 holding optical fibers 14, 15 in parallel. A lens 19 is arranged in the lens array 17 so as to be opposed to the end face of each of the optical fibers 14, 15. A triangular prism 13 is arranged in front of the lens array 17. An incident-emitting face 22 of the triangular prism 13 is inclined with respect to the lens array 17. Signal light L emitted from the optical fiber 14 is converted into parallel light by the lens 19, and is incident to the triangular prism 13. After the signal light L is then totally reflected on the reflecting face 20, the signal light L is incident to a reflecting face 21. The incident angle of the signal light L incident to the reflecting face 21 is slightly smaller than a critical angle of the total reflection. The signal light L is leaked from the reflecting face 21 to the exterior by a constant ratio κ. Accordingly, the amount of the signal light L can be calculated by measuring this leak light La.

摘要: The present invention provides an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer which can demultiplex a multiplexed optical signal having a number of wavelength bands into respective wavelength regions, or multiplex light having respective wavelength regions in the field of optical communications. That is, light gained by multiplexing light having wavelengths λ1, λ2, λ3 and λ4 is emitted from an optical fiber (9a) and the optical axis thereof is bent by a micro lens (12a) of a micro lens array (14) so that the light is converted to parallel light which is then reflected from a mirror layer (19) so as to enter into a filter layer (17). A filter (17a) transmits only light having wavelength λ1, and light having other wavelengths is reflected and again reflected by the mirror layer (19) so as to enter into the filter layer (17). The optical axis of light that has transmitted through the filter (17a) is bent by a micro lens (12c) so that the light is coupled to an optical fiber (9c). Light having wavelength λ1, λ2, λ3 and λ4 is taken out from the light emitting ends of optical fibers (9c, 9d, 9e and 9f), respectively.
