    摘要: A stereophonic sound reproduction system comprises a first signal converter receptive of an audio signal for converting it into a binaural signal containing information as to the localization of the original sound source at a desired location in a listening area, and a second signal converter for converting the binaural signal into a signal containing no acoustic components which would produce the effect of crosstalk between listener's ears when the signal is reproduced in the listening area. A sound field expansion system is also disclosed which includes a converter which processes an input signal for generating an acoustic signal which localizes virtual sound sources so that the listener is given the impression of an expanded listening area.

    摘要: Each of quadraphonic signals is applied to a respective one of a plurality of binaural localization networks to deliver a pair of binaurally correlated output signals to a respective one of a plurality of crosstalk cancellation networks where the input signals are modified so as to eliminate acoustic crosstalk which might be perceived by a listener if the non-modified signals were directly used to produce sound waves. The output signals from each crosstalk cancellation network are a pair of crosstalk-free signals which are combined in adders with signals from the other crosstalk cancellation networks to deliver a plurality of localized output signals to loudspeakers. The localization networks are so adjusted to make the localized output signals to appear to originate from anywhere in front of a listener.

    摘要: A binaural four-channel stereophony comprises at least two dummy heads each provided with microphones at the ears of the dummy to pick up signals from various sound sources or groups of sound sources. The binaural signals representing each sound source or a group of sound sources are coupled to an acoustic crosstalk cancellation circuit and eventually applied to two front or two rear loudspeakers. Each sound source or group of sound sources is localized between adjacent ones of the four speakers to simulate the binaural effect produced in a closed-circuit type binaural sound reproducing system.

    摘要: An information signal recording disc is recorded with a stereoscopic television signal comprising a stereoscopic video signal and audio signals. The disc comprises a spiral track made up of a plurality of track turns, and video signals related to four fields are recorded on each of the plurality of track turns. Each track turn is time-sequentially recorded with right-eye and left-eye video signals of mutually different field numbers out of the right-eye and left-eye video signals of a simultaneous stereoscopic television signal in a sequence of field numbers together with audio signals, so that the right-eye video signal and the left-eye video signal are respectively recorded for a time period of two fields in each track turn. The right-eye and left-eye video signals related to identical fields are recorded side by side to each other in two mutually adjacent track turns. A predetermined sequence with which the right-eye and left-eye video signals are recorded on the spiral track is repeated with a period of eight fields.

    摘要: A frequency band dividing filter comprises at least two unit circuits connected in cascade connection of at least two stages, and at least one supplemental delay circuit. Each of the unit circuits comprises a low-pass filter having a specific filtering frequency band with a steep cut-off characteristic, a delay circuit connected in parallel with said low-pass filter and having a frequency phase characteristic substantially equal to the frequency phase characteristic of said low-pass filter in the pass band thereof, and a subtraction circuit connected to the output sides of said low-pass filter and said delay circuit thereby to carry out subtraction of the outputs of said low-pass filter and said delay circuit. The supplemental delay circuit is connected in parallel with the second stage unit circuit, which is connected to the first stage unit circuit in cascade connection, and has the same characteristic as the characteristic of the delay circuit of the second stage unit circuit.

    摘要: A phased-array sound pickup apparatus has an array of directional microphones having individual directivity patterns equally oriented in a given direction. The directivity patterns of the microphones combine into the main lobe of the array. A plurality of variable delay circuits are connected to be responsive respectively to individual signals from the microphones for providing incremental delays to the individual signals and combining the delayed signals for delivery as an output of the apparatus. A delay control circuit is coupled to the variable delay circuits for generating a delay control signal for controlling the amount of the incremental delays to cause the main lobe to be steered at an angle to the given direction as a function of the delay control signal.

    摘要: Spatially correlated input audio signals are combined in a first combination of adder and subtracter to produce an input summation signal and an input difference signal, which are respectively translated by first and second filter circuits. The transfer function of the first filter circuit describes the relationship between the input summation signal and a summation of output audio signals and the transfer function of the second filter circuit describes the relationship between the input difference signal and a difference between the output audio signals. The translated signals are combined in a second combination of adder and subtracter to produce the output audio signals. Each of the filter circuits is designed with a minimum amount of phase shift which allows elimination of delay elements.
