摘要： Silver halide photographic element comprising a support having coated thereon red-, green- and blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers comprising, respectively, cyan, magenta and yellow dye-forming couplers, wherein at least one silver halide emulsion layer comprises a yellow dye-forming DIR coupler having a 1,2,4-triazolyl group attached to the coupling position, said 1,2,4-triazolyl group comprising a hydrolyzable alkoxy- or aryloxy-carbonyl group attached to a benzylthio substituent on the 1,2,4-triazolyl group. Preferably, the yellow dye-forming DIR coupler is represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or --NHR.sub.5, wherein R.sub.5 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group, R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group, TIME represents a timing group, n is 0 or 1, R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group or a phenyl group, and R.sub.4 represents hydrogen atom or an alkyl group.

摘要： A process for preparation of 4-mercapto-1-naphthol compounds which comprises the steps of: (i) obtaining a 4-heterocyclylthio-1-naphthol compound by reacting a 1-naphthol compound with a heterocyclylsulfur chloride or by reacting a 4-iodo-1-naphthol compound with an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a mercaptoheterocyclic compound, (ii) hydrolyzing the resulting 4-heterocyclylthio-1-naphthol compound in the presence of a base to form a reaction product, and (iii) acidifying said reaction product. The resulting compounds are useful as intermediates in the synthesis of bleach accelerator releasing couplers for use in silver halide color photographic materials.

摘要： A multilayer silver halide color photographic element comprises a support having coated thereon a silver antihalation layer, an interlayer, at least two red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, at least two green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers a yellow filter layer, and at least two blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, wherein the interlayer provided between the silver antihalation layer and the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer closest to the support contains a bleach accelerator releasing compound, and the silver antihalation layer contains a water-soluble organic thiol. The invention provides reduction in residual silver levels and backside turbidity after processing, without deleteriously affecting sensitometric properties of the photographic element.
