摘要: Systems and related methods for analyzing data sensed from a device implanted in a patient, such as a cardiac pacing system. The system detects and evaluates electric signals within the patient that share a common event marker. By using algorithms and graphical presentation of the collected signals having common event markers, deviations in signals over time can be identified and evaluated in consideration of taking further action related to the patient and the implanted device. The system can also be used in conjunction with an advanced patient management system that includes a programmer or repeater capable of gathering information from the implanted device and transmitting the data to a host via a communications network for evaluation at a remote location.

摘要: A method of communicating text messages to a clinician as a reminder that certain program changes are to be made to a medical tissue stimulating device implanted in a patient. An external programmer capable of transmitting and receiving radio-frequency messages to and from the implant and visually displaying information is used to transmit text messages along with a text message initiation date and a text message termination date to the implanted device. These data are stored in a memory of the implanted device's microprocessor-based controller. Subsequently, at the time of a regularly scheduled patient follow-up, the implant may be interrogated by the external programmer and the text message read out and displayed if the time of the interrogation falls between the text message initiation date and its termination date. The method may further involve assigning a priority flag to the text message when it is stored in the implanted device so that upon interrogation, the text message may be displayed in a manner dictated by the priority code.

摘要: The present disclosure describes methods and systems for creating, adjusting, and using cardiac waveform morphology templates. The morphology templates include target regions associated with features of cardiac waveforms. The target regions may be adjusted based on relationships between the target regions and features of detected cardiac waveforms associated with the target regions. The templates may be used to analyze cardiac waveforms to classify or monitor various waveform morphologies. Templates may be created or eliminated based on a frequency of use. According to one approach, template creation involves providing target regions defined by one or more characteristics. The target regions are adjusted based on detected cardiac waveform features having similar characteristics. A template may be created using the target regions adjusted by this process.

摘要: Cardiac stimulation methods and systems provide for multiple pulse defibrillation, and involve sensing a fibrillation event, determining a fibrillation cycle length associated with the fibrillation event, and delivering a plurality of defibrillation pulses to treat the fibrillation event. Defibrillation pulses are delivered using a combination of subcutaneous non-intrathoracic electrodes. Delivery of each defibrillation waveform subsequent to a first defibrillation waveform is separated in time by a delay associated with the fibrillation cycle length. Delays between defibrillation waveform delivery may be associated with a percentage of the fibrillation cycle length.
