摘要: A blood pressure analysis system/method allowing conversion from an analog sensor input to a standardized analog output interface is disclosed. In some preferred embodiments the system/method permits a fiber optic pressure sensor to be interfaced to a standard patient care monitor (PCM) system using standardized Wheatstone Bridge analog interface inputs. Within this context the Wheatstone Bridge sensed output is defined by stimulus from the PCM and modulation of bridge element values by the conditioned output of an analog pressure sensor. The use of analog-to-digital-to-analog conversion in this blood pressure analysis permits retrofitting of PCM devices having analog Wheatstone Bridge inputs with advanced patient monitoring sensors without the need for specialized modifications to the baseline PCM data collection framework. Methods disclosed herein include techniques to connect arbitrary types/numbers of analog sensors to traditional PCM systems without the need for PCM system hardware/software modifications.

摘要: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for obtaining at least one bodily function measurement are presented. A mobile device includes an outer body sized to be portable for user, a processor contained within the outer body, and a plurality of sensors physically coupled to the outer body. The sensors are configured to obtain a first measurement indicative of blood volume and a second measurement indicative of heart electrical activity in response to a user action. A blood pressure measurement is determined based on the first measurement and the second measurement. The sensors also include electrodes where a portion of a user's body positioned between the electrodes completes a circuit and a measurement to provide at least one measure of impedance associated with the user's body. A hydration level measurement is determined based on the measure of impedance.

摘要: A system and method is disclosed for measurement of pulse wave velocity of a vessel. An intravascular device comprises a first and a second marker provided at different locations along the length of the intravascular device of which positions are localizable by a tracking apparatus. The intravascular device provides plurality of measurements along the length of the vessel, while the intravascular device is moved from a first position to a second position, corresponding to a first and a second time. At the second time the position of the first marker in the vessel corresponds to the position of the second marker at the first time. The pulse wave velocity value of the vessel is ascertained based on measurements associated for the first time and the second time from the plurality of measurements and based on the distance between the locations of the two markers along the length of the intravascular device.

摘要: An implantable medical device is disclosed, in which the implantable medical device includes a fluid shunt extending through a wall separating a first cavity and a second cavity within the heart. The fluid shunt includes a first portion adapted to extend into the first cavity within the heart, a second portion adapted to extend into the second cavity within the heart, and an intermediate portion interconnecting the first and second portions. The fluid shunt having a lumen extending between the first and second portions that is adapted to fluidly couple the first and second cavities within the heart. The implantable medical device also includes an occlusion assembly associated with the fluid shunt and adapted to selectively occlude flow through the lumen of the fluid shunt, where the occlusion assembly is activated to adjust flow through the lumen of the fluid shunt, The implantable medical device further includes at least one sensor assembly associated with the first portion of the fluid shunt such that the at least one sensor assembly senses one or more physiologic parameters in the first cavity.

摘要: Some implementations of an endovascular device include a stent graft with an expandable tubular metallic frame and a covering material disposed on at least a portion of the metallic frame. The stent graft defines a lumen therethrough. In a particular embodiment, a first balloon is disposed around an outer periphery of the stent graft, a second balloon is disposed around the outer periphery of the stent graft and spaced apart from the first balloon, and a third balloon is disposed within the stent graft lumen between the first balloon and the second balloon. The third balloon can be inflated to fully or partially occlude the lumen. The first and second balloons can be individually inflated to fully or partially shunt blood flow from a blood vessel through the stent graft. In some embodiments, sensors and an automated control unit are included to automate the operations of the endovascular device.
