摘要： An apparatus and method for transparently relaying a signal using a plurality of frequency bands in a multi-hop relay cellular network are provided, in which a Relay Station (RS) communicates with a Base Station (BS) via a relay link in a first frequency band and communicates with a Mobile Station (MS) within the sub-cell of the RS via a sub-cell link in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band.

摘要： A signal transmission/reception apparatus of a communication system. The signal transmission apparatus receives an information vector, encodes the information vector into a structured Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codeword using a structured LDPC coding scheme, and transmits the generated structured LDPC code to the signal reception apparatus. Then the signal reception apparatus receives a signal, and detects an information vector by decoding the received signal using a decoding scheme corresponding to the structured LDPC coding scheme used in the signal transmission apparatus.

A count value indicative of a state change of the base station is received. The received current count value is compared with a previous count value previously received and stored. If the current count value is different from the previous count value, the mobile station performs a network entry procedure with the base station.

摘要： A method and apparatus for selecting a Relay Station (RS) for a Mobile Station (MS) of a communication system are provided. The communication system is provided with the MS, a serving Base Station (BS) for providing the MS with a service and RSs for relaying signals of the MS and the BS. The MS receives RS information for increasing system capacity from the serving BS, measures reference signal strength of an RS indicated in the RS information, and selects an associated RS as a target RS for relaying a signal when the measured reference signal strength satisfies a condition.

摘要： A decoding method in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. The method includes determining whether an LDPC codeword to be decoded is a general LDPC codeword to which a puncturing scheme is not applied or a punctured LDPC codeword to which the puncturing scheme is applied; if the LDPC codeword to be decoded is the punctured LDPC codeword, generating a child parity check matrix according to a mother parity check matrix indicative of a parity check matrix of the general LDPC codeword, and a puncturing pattern applied to the punctured LDPC codeword; and decoding the punctured LDPC codeword according to the child parity check matrix.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for supporting an MS-initiated handover in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system are provided. An MS determines whether a handover is required by measuring the strengths of signals received from neighbor BSs and neighbor RSs. If the handover is required, the MS sends to a serving station a handover request message including MS-recommended target neighbor node list information, and receives from the serving station a handover response message including serving station-recommended target neighbor node list information.

摘要： Provided are an apparatus and a method for handling a handover in multi-hop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system. In a communication method of a Relay Station (RS) in a multi-hop relay BWA system, a handover request message including a candidate node list is received from a Base Station (BS), the handover request message is sent to a Mobile Station (MS), and a handover indication message is received from the MS, the handover indication message indicating whether to perform a handover. Communication persistence can be provided for the MS having mobile characteristics, and cell load management and RS configuration/arrangement can be easily accomplished.

摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for transmitting a signal in a communication system using a low density parity check (LDPC) code. An LDPC codeword is generated by encoding an information word at a coding rate. A puncturing pattern is generated when a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) scheme to be applied to the LDPC codeword is an incremental redundancy (IR) scheme. An additional pattern is generated when the HARQ scheme to be applied to the LDPC codeword is a partial chase combining (CC) scheme. A signal is transmitted by applying the puncturing pattern to the LDPC codeword at an associated coding rate when the HARQ scheme to be used is the IR scheme. A signal is transmitted by applying the additional pattern to the LDPC codeword at an associated coding rate when the HARQ scheme to be used is the partial CC scheme.

摘要： A method and system for acquiring information about neighbor base stations (BSs) and neighbor relay stations (RSs) in a multi-hop relay broadband wireless access communication system are provided. In the method, a serving BS collects information about the neighbor BSs and the neighbor RSs, generates a message including the collected information, and transmits the message to a serving RS and an MSS directly communicating with the serving BS.
