摘要: A filter assembly for use in sidestream gas sampling assembly. The filter assembly of the present invention includes a hydrophilic. The filter further includes a Hydrophobic member positioned downstream of the hydrophilic liner. The hydrophobic disk acts as a second line of defense against moisture reaching the sensing mechanism member that is constructed from a porous material and is situated such that gas entering the filter assembly passes through at least a portion the hydrophilic member. In a further embodiment, the filter includes a hydrophobic member positioned downstream of the hydrophilic member. The hydrophobic member acts as a second line of defense against moisture reaching the sensing mechanism in the gas sampling assembly.

摘要: An array surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis instrument comprising a reflective SPR sensor array, a light source assembly arranged to project a collimated beam of light onto the reflective SPR sensor array to provide a reflected array image of the sensor array, and to scan the incident angle of the collimated beam of light over an angular range, and a detector assembly oriented to receive the reflected array image of the sensor array over the angular range, the detector assembly comprises a two-dimensional detector sensing element that is tilted with respect to the optical axis of the lens assembly in accordance with the Scheimpflug condition, and a lens assembly for focusing the reflected array image of said SPR sensor array onto said tilted detector sensing element. The lens assembly comprises an objective section which is arranged to produce a virtual image of the tilted reflected array at infinity, followed by an imaging section arranged to transform the virtual image of the tilted reflected array into a real tilted image on the tilted detector sensing element.

摘要: Sidestream gas sampling assembly that does not substantially degrade the waveform of expired gases. The gas sampling assembly includes a sample cell portion integrated with a filter portion for separating undesired liquid condensate from respiratory gases to be monitored. The gas sampling assembly is configured to receive expired gases through a gas sampling line, filter undesired liquid condensate from the expired gases through hydrophobic fiber elements and communicate the filtered gases to a sample chamber which is in close proximity to the filter where measurements may be taken thereof e.g., optical or infrared sensing mechanisms. The gases that are substantially free of liquid condensate are then exhausted from the sample chamber.

摘要: An optical analysis unit especially suitable for performing grating coupled surface plasmon resonance (SPR) imaging features a pivoting light source capable of scanning through a range of angles of incident light projected onto a stationary target sensor, such as an SPR sensor. The reflected image from the illuminated sensor is detected, e.g., by a CCD camera and the image and angular scan data are processed, for example by a fitting algorithm, to provide real time analysis of reactions taking place on the surface of the sensor.
