    摘要: A heat exchanger for a gas turbine engine is provided by a structure including an enclosed fluid cavity. The structure has opposing sides, and a set of fins is supported on one of the sides and arranged outside the cavity. The set of fins includes rows of discrete chevron fins separated by periodic gaps. In one application, the heat exchanger is arranged in a gas turbine engine. A core is supported relative to a fan case by structure. A fan duct is provided between a core nacelle and a fan case. The core includes a compressor section and a bleed cavity is provided within the core and is in fluid communication with the compressor section. The heat exchanger includes first and second sides opposite one another. The second side includes the set of rows of fins with the periodic gaps exposed to the bleed cavity.

    摘要: A heat exchanger system is provided having a heat exchanger with a first inlet. A first outlet is fluidly coupled to the first inlet by a plurality of first channels. A second outlet is fluidly coupled to the first inlet by a second channel, the second channel having a first portion arranged transverse to the plurality of first channels. A bypass valve having a second inlet fluidly coupled to the first outlet and a third inlet fluidly coupled to the second outlet, and a third outlet selectively fluidly coupled to the second inlet and the third inlet, the third outlet being fluidly coupled to the first inlet. When in a bypass mode of operation, the thermal transfer medium flows through a channel in the heat exchanger to de-congeal the oil within the plurality of first channels.

    摘要: A gear pump for operating with reduced likelihood of cavitation occurrences in the fluid being pumped thereby, the pump having a pair of gears each supported on a corresponding one of a pair of gear with teeth provided in each gear that mesh with at least one tooth of the other when such teeth have been rotated into a meshing region in the gear plane, and with one of the gear shafts being rotatably connectable to a motor. Bearing structures rotatably support corresponding ones of each of the pair of gear shafts with the bearing structures having bearing surfaces adjacent those gear sides. A pressurized fluid passageway is provided in at least one of the bearing structures across from the meshing region and extending between surface openings at the bearing surface of that bearing structure that are positioned on opposite sides of an alignment axis in that bearing surface, the surface openings being separated from one another by at least the width of a tooth provided in the pair of gears.

A plurality of ridges and adjoining apices define a first opening that is in register with a second opening wherein the second opening has less surface area than the first opening. A side attaches the first opening and the second opening and tapers inwardly from the first opening to the second opening to minimize stagnant areas along the ridges and apices.
