摘要: Methods and apparatus to provide vortex cooled secondary flow for a supercritical carbon dioxide pump are disclosed herein. An example thermal management system includes a hot secondary flow extract section fluidly coupled to an outlet of a pump system, a cooled secondary flow section fluidly coupled to the hot secondary flow extract section, the hot secondary flow extract section including a vortex tube to generate cooled secondary air flow from hot secondary flow extract air of the hot secondary flow extract section, and a bearing inlet fluidly coupled to the cooled secondary flow section, the bearing inlet positioned to route the cooled secondary flow to bearings of the pump system.

摘要: Provided is a turbo compressor capable of compressing a gas and supplying the compressed gas to outside, the turbo compressor including a compression unit including an impeller for compressing a gas introduced through a compressed gas inlet, a motor including a rotating shaft having an end coupled to the impeller, to rotate the impeller, a housing including a motor accommodation space for accommodating the motor, a cooling air channel provided to pass through the motor accommodation space and formed to continuously circulate a cooling gas accommodated therein, one or more air bearings supporting a radial load or an axial load of the rotating shaft, and a non-contact explosion-proof unit provided as a passage through which flames produced in an inner space of the housing pass so as to be cooled and then discharged to the outside, and having a width less than or equal to a predetermined value and a length greater than or equal to a predetermined value, wherein a compressed gas channel is spatially separate from the cooling air channel to prevent the gas inside the compressed gas channel from penetrating into the cooling air channel. According to the present invention, an explosion-proof turbo compressor with an improved structure to increase service life and reduce vibration noise by using air bearings and to, at the same time, rapidly cool and then discharge flames caused by an internal explosion may be provided.

摘要: A multi-stage electric centrifugal compressor configured to drive impellers disposed at both ends of a rotational shaft by an electric motor includes: the rotational shaft; a low-pressure-stage impeller disposed at one end of the rotational shaft; a high-pressure-stage impeller disposed at the other end of the rotational shaft; a high-pressure-stage housing accommodating the high-pressure-stage impeller; and a connecting pipe for supplying a compressed gas compressed by the low-pressure-stage impeller to the high-pressure-stage housing. The high-pressure-stage housing has a high-pressure-stage inlet opening that opens in a direction intersecting an axis of the rotational shaft. The connecting pipe includes a high-pressure-stage-side connection portion connected to the high-pressure-stage inlet opening.

摘要: Apparatus for housing a rotatable component and exchanging heat and methods for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The apparatus includes a first casing and a second casing spaced apart from the first casing and defining a gap therebetween. The apparatus also includes a cooling fluid manifold coupled to a source of a cooling fluid, and a stack of plates coupled to the first and second casings and extending therebetween to fill the gap. The first and second casings and the stack of plates define at least a portion of a pressurized containment area therein. Further, the stack of plates includes a bore in which the rotatable component is received and defines process fluid flowpaths configured to direct process fluid to and/or from the rotatable component. The stack of plates is in fluid communication with the cooling fluid manifold and transfers heat from the process fluid to the cooling fluid.

摘要: A fluid takeoff assembly for a motor-compressor is provided and includes an outer pipe having an inlet and an outlet, and an inner pipe defining a fluid passage extending from an open axial end toward a closed axial end thereof and a radial opening fluidly coupled with the fluid passage. The inner pipe may be disposed in the outer pipe such that the open axial end and the closed axial end are oriented toward the outlet and the inlet, respectively, and the inner and outer pipes define an annular space therebetween. A cross-flow member may be coupled with the inner pipe and may define a flowpath fluidly coupled with the fluid passage via the radial opening. A vane and the cross-flow member may be disposed in the annular space and configured to at least partially induce a swirling flow in a process fluid flowing through the annular space.
