Based on the analysis, the logging speed is increased if all the sensors justify it, and is reduced if any of the sensors require a reduced logging speed. Alternatively, the sensitive volume of a NMR sensor is altered based on a determination of a fraction of the sensitive volume that includes a borehole fluid.     摘要: Nuclear magnetic resonance measurement of a medium are made using a tool with a static magnetic field having a gradient. The nuclear spins of the medium are magnetically polarized using the static magnetic field. Data are acquired from at least three sensitive volumes of the medium using an interleaved sequence of pulses at three different non-overlapping frequencies. At each frequency, a number of sub-sequences of a saturation pulse, a recovery pulse and at least one refocusing pulse are used. The saturation times between the saturation pulse and the recovery pulse for the sub-sequences are selected from a distribution of values between a minimum time to a maximum time to enable determination of T1 and T2 spectra over a wide range of values. Repetitions of sub-sequences having the same saturation at one or more frequencies may be carried out with phase alternation of the recovery pulse phases.

    摘要: Downhole monitoring systems are described. The systems include a downhole string disposed in a borehole, the string having a downhole tool and the borehole has fluid therein. A sacrificial electrical sensor element is arranged in or on the string. The sacrificial electrical sensor element includes magnetic material at least partially exposed to the fluid and at least one coil arranged in magnetic communication with the magnetic material. A controller is configured to provide an electrical current into the coil, measure an electrical property of the coil that is based on the magnetic material in magnetic communication with the coil, and determine a wear state of the downhole tool based on the measured electrical property.

    摘要: A method, system and drilling apparatus for directional drilling are disclosed. A drill bit is located at a downhole end of a drill string in a borehole. A length of the borehole between a surface location and the drill bit at the downhole end of a drill string is determined and an azimuth angle and inclination of the drill bit is obtained. The length of the borehole may be determined by recording an arrival time at a downhole location of an acoustic pulse travelling from a surface location to the downhole location and determines the travel time and borehole length therefrom. A downhole processor determines a position and orientation of the drill bit from the determined length, azimuth angle and inclination and alters a steering parameter of the drill bit using the determined position and orientation of the drill bit to obtain a selected trajectory for drilling the borehole.
