摘要： This disclosure relates to a low-moisture, sugarless, center-filled chewing gum and a process for the preparation thereof, in which a low moisture, liquid center-fill is incorporated into a cavity within a substantially anhydrous chewing gum shell. The center-filled chewing gum disclosed has improved non-staling properties and an extended shelf-life. The liquid center-fill has a water content of about 6% to about 8%, based on the total weight of the liquid center-fill, a viscosity of about 22,000 to about 85,000 centipoises at 25.degree. C., and contains a natural or synthetic gum, a glycerin humectant and an additonal, water-miscible humectant.

摘要： A stabilized chewing gum product containing an L-aspartic acid derived sweetener in its free form and method for manufacture thereof are disclosed. The chewing gum product includes at least two portions, one of which includes, in its free form, Aspartame (APM) as an artificial, low calorie sweetener. Also included in the APM-containing portion can be an organic acid which will maintain the pH of the portion at a level conducive to maintaining the stability of APM. A second portion can include flavoring agents, and optionally, at least one moisture-containing agent. The portions are arranged in surface-to-surface relationship whereby contact between the APM and the flavorings and/or moisture-containing agent of the second portion is substantially reduced. The stability of APM and, consequently, of the chewing gum product is substantially increased.

摘要： A training apparatus for training a child how to blow his or her nose includes a tapered chute having proximal and distal ends. The tapered chute defines an internal passageway connecting the proximal and distal ends. The proximal end includes a proximal opening that is sufficiently wide to fit over a child's nose. The distal end includes a distal opening that is smaller than the proximal opening. The internal passageway includes a narrow portion, adjoining the distal opening, and sized to snugly accommodate a projectile lodged therein. When air is exhaled into the proximal opening, the exhaled air passes through the internal passageway and builds pressure behind the projectile such that the projectile is forcefully ejectable from the distal opening.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a sugarless center-filled gum wherein the sugarless chewing gum formulation can be extruded to form a hollow-centered rope and wherein the sugarless center-fill is not absorbed into the chewing gum. Both the chewing gum and the liquid fill have incorporated therein a composition comprising a natural or synthetic gum, glycerin humectant and an additional humectant which may be sorbitol solution or a combination of sorbitol solution and propylene glycol. Suitable synthetic or natural gums include carboxymethylcellulose, pectin, propylene glycol alginates, agar and gum tragacanth. The preferred composition which is incorporated into both the sugarless chewing gum formulation and the sugarless liquid fill contains sodium carboxymethylcellulose, glycerin and sorbitol solution.
