Abstract:
A method of delivering search results may include segmenting a query to obtain one or more word groups, such as nGrams, analyzing each word group to determine a degree of relatedness between that word group and a group of Internet websites related to each other by a common factor, for example by matching hash tables of bigrams, and applying each word group to a secondary index of words in the group of related websites to produce a set of search results which may be combined with another set of search results for the searcher.
Abstract:
A thermoset composite material that my used in the fabrication of structural components including railroad ties comprise a substantially homogeneous blend of an amount of vulcanized rubber particles including a predetermined ratio of different particles sizes, and a thermoset elastomeric binding agent added to the vulcanized rubber particles. The blend may comprise about 30% to about 97% by weight of the vulcanized rubber particles, and the blend is subjected to compression molding at a predetermined temperature and pressure for a resident time period forming the composite material. The ratio of different rubber particle sizes is selected so that the composite material has a desired density or is within a range of desired densities.

Abstract:
A method and system for pacing online advertisement deliveries are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, the present invention overcomes the problems in the existing art described above by providing a method and system for pacing the delivery of online advertisements. In one embodiment, a method, that is to be implemented on a system, is provided to identify a rate at which billable events for an online advertisement occur; and adjust at least one of a pace the online advertisement is served, or an amount charged for the advertisement being selected, based on the rate the online advertisement is selected and a budget limit.
Abstract:
A method and system for billing for online ad delivery services are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, an advertiser establishes an account with an online ad delivery service, and provides an initial amount of funds for the account. In addition, the advertiser establishes a budget limit for a specified budget period. As ads are served and clicked by end-users, a predetermined fee is debited from the advertiser's account. However, the ad server includes budget analysis logic to determine when to stop serving ads to ensure that the advertiser's budget limit is not exceeded, thereby ensuring that the advertiser's initial funds are not used up more quickly than desired.
Abstract:
A method of enhancing search results provided over the Internet may include providing a service over the Internet to members of a group of service users, the service resulting in multiple selections of each of a plurality of web pages by different members of the group, maintaining a first database of web pages selected by members of the group, maintaining a first index of web pages from the first database excluding identification of members of the group, maintaining a global index of web pages, searching the first index and the global index in response to a query string provided by a search engine user and providing a search results set to the search engine user including search results from both the first index and the global index.
