    摘要: The present invention relates to block copolymers for applications in medicine and biotechnology and synthesis thereof. Block copolymers comprise polyvalent N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) which bind more efficiently to lysozyme than NAG itself. The effective inhibition is possible even at very low ligand concentrations than reported earlier. The block copolymers could be used for prevention and treatment of bacterial and viral infections. Moreover these polymers can be stimuli sensitive and be used for the recovery of biomolecules. The methodology of preparation of block copolymers reported here can be extended to other polymers and ligands such as sialic acid and used for preventing influenza and/or rotavirus infections. It also provides a method for preparation of block copolymers wherein polymers comprising sequences of specific ligands are essential.

    摘要: The present invention provides a polymer composition for the selective removal of cobalt, a process for the preparation thereof and the process for removal of cobalt, using the said polymer composition. More particularly it relates to a cross-linked polymer composition prepared by the molecular imprinting technique. The preparation of the cross linked polymer involves selection of vinyl monomers bearing functional groups that bind to cobalt, formation of a complex of these monomers with cobalt and subsequent polymerization of the complex in presence of a crosslinker. The process for the removal of cobalt comprises treating the solution containing a mixture of cobalt and other metal ions with the polymer under conditions sufficient for cobalt to form a complex with the polymer and separating the polymer from the cobalt depleted solution.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of diesters of poly (ethylene glycol) by reacting poly (oxyalkylene glycol) and amino acid hydrochloride in the presence of a condensing agent in a suitable solvent at a temperature in the range of 0° C. to room temperature for a period ranging between 1 hour to 24 hours. The reaction mixture is then filtered and the filtrate poured into another solvent, which is a nonsolvent for the products. The products precipitated thereby are then isolated.
