Abstract: Methods and devices for treatment of a patient's cerebral aneurysm is described. The device includes a permeable shell having a radially constrained elongated state configured for delivery within a catheter lumen, an expanded state with a longitudinally shortened configuration relative to the radially constrained state, and a plurality of elongate filaments that are woven together to form a mesh. The proximal ends of each of the plurality of filaments are gathered by a proximal hub and the distal ends of each of the plurality of filaments are gathered by a distal hub. The proximal portion of the permeable shell includes a swellable polymer. The method includes advancing the implant in a microcatheter to a region of interest in the cerebral vasculature, deploying the implant within the cerebral aneurysm, and withdrawing the microcatheter from the region of interest after deploying the implant.

Abstract: Embolectomy catheters, rapid exchange microcatheters, systems and methods for removing clots or other obstructive matter (e.g., thrombus, thromboemboli, embolic fragments of atherosclerotic plaque, foreign objects, etc.) from blood vessels. This invention is particularly useable for percutaneous removal of thromboemboli or other obstructive matter from small blood vessels of the brain, during an evolving stroke or period of cerebral ischemia. In some embodiments, the embolectomy catheters of this invention are advanceable with or over a guidewire which has been pre-inserted through or around the clot. Also, in some embodiments, the embolectomy catheters include clot removal devices which are deployable from the catheter after the catheter has been advanced at least partially through the clot. The clot removal device may include a deployable wire nest that is designed to prevent a blood clot from passing therethrough. The delivery catheter may include telescoping inner and outer tubes, with the clot removal device being radially constrained by the outer tube. Retraction of the outer tube removes the constraint on the clot removal device and permits it to expand to its deployed configuration. An infusion guidewire is particularly useful in conjunction with the embolectomy catheter, and permits infusion of medicaments or visualization fluids distal to the clot.

Abstract: An apparatus for treating vascular aneurysms includes an occlusive support device comprised of one or more support members. The occlusive device has, an end cap member and an anchoring member. The end cap member is comprised of at least one of one or more of the support members. The end cap member has openings and the end cap member comprises a reactive material that is configured to hydrate upon delivery of the device and to reduce the size of said openings. The device is configured so that the occlusive members can be positioned in the blood vessel proximate the neck of a vascular aneurysm, the reactive material hydrates and increases the resistance to blood flow into the aneurysm, and the anchoring member anchors the device in the blood vessel without occluding flow through the blood vessel.

Abstract: Intrasaccular devices and methods of implanting the devices in an aneurysm are described. The device includes an expandable body comprising a plurality of elongate filamentary elements each having a first and a second end. Each of the plurality of elongate filamentary elements extends from a first end of the device to a second end of the device and back to the first end of the device. The first and second ends of each of the plurality of elongate members are coupled at the first end of the device in a hub. The device may further include a defect spanning structure made of a mesh. The defect spanning structure may be located around a proximal portion of the expandable body, and may be disposed exteriorly to an outer surface of the expandable body
