Abstract: A system for using free-space optics to interconnect a plurality of computing nodes can include a plurality of node optical transceivers that are electrically coupled to at least some of the plurality of computing nodes. The system can also include a plurality of router optical transceivers that facilitate free-space optical communications with the plurality of node optical transceivers. Each node optical transceiver among the plurality of node optical transceivers can have a corresponding router optical transceiver that is optically coupled to the node optical transceiver. The system can also include a router that is coupled to the plurality of router optical transceivers. The router can be configured to route the free-space optical communications among the plurality of computing nodes.

Abstract: Magneto-optical modulator-based systems and devices for transferring quantum information are described. Such systems can be used for many applications, including as part of quantum computers. An example system includes a quantum information system configured to provide a signal corresponding to at least one qubit. The system further includes a magneto-optical driver configured to receive the signal corresponding to the at least one qubit and process the signal to generate a current based on the signal corresponding to the at least one qubit. The system further includes a magneto-optical modulator configured to receive the current from the magneto-optical driver and provide a modulated light output by modulating a received light input based on the current.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of performing RFID-based navigation of an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV). An intended location of the AGV is determined based at least in part on a previously determined location of the AGV and further based at least in part on a calculated motion of the AGV from the previously determined location. The AGV includes an RFID device that is paired with RFID devices in an environment of the AGV. The RFID device of the AGV and one or more of the RFID devices in the environment may communicate in accordance with an RFID technique to enable the AGV to determine an actual location of the AGV. A reference location of the AGV on which navigation of the AGV is based is set to be the actual location rather than the intended location.

Abstract: A motherboard assembly comprises a motherboard, a first computing component attached to the motherboard, and a coolant container attached to the motherboard. An air-cooled heat sink is attached to the coolant container. The coolant container, the heat sink, and the motherboard form a hermetically sealed enclosure that encompasses the first computing component and that is configured to retain dielectric working fluid covering the first computing component. The heat sink is positioned to condense vapors formed from boiling of the dielectric working fluid and to cause condensed dielectric working fluid to return to a pool of the dielectric working fluid that comprises the first computing component. The motherboard assembly additionally comprises a second computing component attached to the motherboard and positioned outside of the hermetically sealed enclosure.
