    摘要: An apparatus generates quasi-complementary turbo codes in a communication system. The apparatus includes a turbo encoder, an interleaver for interleaving symbols output from the turbo encoder according to a given rule, and a code generator for generating the quasi-complementary turbo codes by puncturing and repeating the interleaved symbols from the interleaver. Further, an apparatus decodes quasi-complementary turbo codes in the communication system. The decoding apparatus includes a code decoder for generating code symbols according to a code rate transmitted through depuncturing sub-codes of quasi-complementary turbo codes transmitted from a transmitter and soft combining the sub-codes, a deinterleaver for deinterleaving the symbols output from the code decoder, and a turbo decoder for decoding an output of the deinterleaver.

A received signal-combining scheme is determined according to the strength of an interference signal included in the signals received from the antennas.     摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for normalizing input soft metric to a channel decoder in a wireless communication system. A demapper generates soft metric using an in-phase component (Xk) and a quadrature component (Yk) of a received modulated symbol (Rk), a channel fading coefficient (gk) and a constant value (c) defined by a modulation order of the received modulated symbol. A normalizer receives the soft metric, computes a normalized log likelihood ratio (LLR) by multiplying the soft metric by a ratio of the constant value to a noise variance value, transforms the normalized LLR into a desired range and a desired number of bits, and outputs an input LLR of the channel decoder.

    摘要: A gap filler apparatus providing cyclic delay diversity in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system. In the gap filler apparatus, a receiver receives an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal transmitted as a broadcasting signal. A symbol synchronization unit acquires symbol synchronization of the OFDM signal, detects a guard interval of an OFDM symbol using the symbol synchronization, determines a sample length, by which the OFDM symbol is cyclic-delayed within the guard interval, and cyclic-delays the OFDM signal by the determined sample length. An amplifier amplifies the cyclic-delayed OFDM signal. A transmitter transmits the amplified OFDM signal to a wireless network.
