Abstract: Provided are a motor device and a method for manufacturing the same that can accurately and consistently provide a support shaft to a case and enhance the strength for fixing the support shaft to the case. A small-diameter part having a smaller diameter than a large-diameter part is formed through drawing. The large-diameter part and a step part are embedded in a gear case. The small-diameter part is exposed outside the gear case. The dimensional accuracy (dimensional tolerance ±α) of the external diameter of the small-diameter part is enhanced. The small-diameter part can be set, without rattling, in a lower mold for molding the gear case. Consequently, the support shaft can be accurately and consistently provided to the gear case. Because the large-diameter part and the step part are embedded in the gear case, the resistance of the support shaft against pulling from the gear case can be enhanced.

Abstract: Each cross-section of the connector member assembling hole and the assembly main body 51a in a direction intersecting the insertion direction has a point-symmetrical circular shape with the insertion shaft center FC as the center. A pair of connector-side female terminals 57a, opposed to each other with the insertion shaft center FC as the center, is provided at the distal end side in the insertion direction of the assembly main body 51a, and a pair of brush-side male terminals, opposed to each other with the insertion shaft center FC as the center and to which the connector-side female terminals 57a are connected, is provided to a portion of the brush holder opposite to the connector member assembling hole. Therefore, it is possible to insert the connector member 50 into the gear case in the state of being rotated by 180 degrees about the insertion shaft center FC, and it is possible to cope with arrangement needs which are different by 180 degrees in a connection direction of the external connector, using one connector member 50.

Abstract: A seal member is attached to a cover which occludes a gear case as a housing unit. The seal member is formed of elastomer and integrally formed with: a plate-shaped portion formed into a disc shape which covers the inner surface of the cover; an inner seal portion which is positioned on the inner peripheral edge of a through-hole, and comes into sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of an output member; an outer seal portion which is positioned on the periphery of the cover, and comes into contact with the opening end of the housing unit; and anchor portions which latch onto the front surface of the cover via mounting holes provided to the cover. The boundary between the seal member and the cover extends only to the outside of the gear case, and does not extend to the inside of the gear case.

Abstract: On one side of a worm wheel (46) in an axial direction, first thinned portions (46e) recessed toward the other side of the worm wheel (46) in the axial direction are arranged. Further, on the one side of the worm wheel (46) in the axial direction, reinforcing portions (46h) reinforcing areas between the first thinned portions (46e) and tooth portions (45) of the worm wheel (46) are arranged. Therefore, it is possible to reduce a weight of the worm wheel (46) and to suppress occurrence of distortion of the tooth portions (45) by the first thinned portions (46e). In addition, it is possible to sufficiently increase the strength of the worm wheel (46) in the vicinity of the tooth portions (45) by the reinforcing portions (46h).

Abstract: Because the pressure angle β° (=12°) of teeth (47) of a worm wheel (46) is larger than the pressure angle α° (=11°) of teeth (45) of a worm (44), tips of the teeth (47) of the worm wheel (46) can be more tapered as compared with a case in which the pressure angle of the teeth of the worm and the pressure angle of the teeth of the worm wheel are the same angle (the conventional case). Thereby, it is possible to ensure non-contact of teeth, which had been variable in terms of contact and non-contact in the case of the conventional form, even if there has been non-uniformity in the teeth (47) of the worm wheel (46).
