摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a powder of a CeO2—ZrO2-based complex oxide which enables to achieve an improvement in the purification performance at a low to middle temperature of an exhaust gas purification catalyst, and, in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a powder of a CeO2—ZrO2-based complex oxide, wherein a pore volume with from-10-to-100-nm diameters after a heat treatment performed at 1,000° C. for 3 hours in an air atmosphere, is 0.35 mL/g or more, and wherein an amount of carbon dioxide desorbed after the heat treatment, as measured by a temperature programmed desorption method, is 80 μmol/g or more.

A method for producing a phosphor includes sintering an ingredient composition that contains a gallium element (Ga), a sulfur element (S), an element M, where the element M includes at least one selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr, and Ca and an element A that functions as a luminescent center while a portion of the ingredient composition is melted. A light emitting device includes: a light emitting element that contains the above-described phosphor; and an excitation source.

摘要: A method is provided that can produce lithium sulfide with high purity. The method for producing lithium sulfide includes: a first step of reducing a raw material containing lithium (Li) and sulfur (S) elements, using a reductant containing a carbon (C) element, thereby obtaining an intermediate; and a second step of reducing the intermediate using a reducing gas, thereby obtaining lithium sulfide. It is preferable that the first step is performed in an inert gas atmosphere. It is also preferable that the first step is performed at a temperature of from 700° C. to 850° C. It is also preferable that the second step is performed at a temperature of from 830° C. to 930° C.

摘要: The present invention provides an exhaust gas purifying catalyst including a first catalyst layer (12). The first catalyst layer (12) includes a first section (14) and a second section (15) in an exhaust gas flow direction, the first section (14) being located on an upstream side in the exhaust gas flow direction relative to the second section (15). The first section (14) and the second section (15) both contain a catalytically active component including a specific element. A concentration of the specific element is higher in the first section (14) than in the second section (15). A concentration gradient of the specific element contained in the first section (14) in a thickness direction of the catalyst layer (12) is milder than a concentration gradient of the specific element contained in the second section (15) in the thickness direction.
