These compositions comprise blends of a graft copolymer of a polyethylene backbone grafted with at least one grafting monomer comprising one or more polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids or the anhydrides of such acids blended with a blending resin that is a mixture of one or more high density polyethylenes and one or more polypropylenes. The disclosure also includes composite structures and their method of making comprising one or more substrates and a blend of the above as the adhesive in contact with and united with the substrate or substrates.

    摘要: A new catalyst and a method of polymerizing olefins in which the catalyst is prepared (1) by forming a mixture by dispersing on a finely divided, difficult to reduce, inorganic support of silica, alumina, thoria, zirconia, titania, magnesia or mixtures of these a tetravalent or lower valent organic chromium compound, (2) calcining the mixture of (1) in an oxidizing or inert atmosphere and at an elevated temperature to produce a chromium compound on the support, (3) reacting the product of (2) with an alkyl ester of titanium, boron, vanadium or mixtures thereof at an elevated temperature, and (4) activating the product of (3) with a dry gas that contains oxygen by heating at an elevated temperature the product of (3) in this dry gas.

    摘要: Methods of making polymers from polymerizable 1-olefins which comprise polymerizing at least one 1-olefin with a catalyst system consisting essentially of a mixture of (1) a support which is a finely divided insoluble inorganic support material such as silica, alumina, zirconia or thoria or mixtures thereof containing titanium, zirconium or nickel prepared by fluidizing the finely divided support in the form of a bed with a substantially dry gas while adding to the bed at an elevated temperature, while fluidizing, a compound of the class consisting of titanium or zirconium or nickel esters, or halides or mixtures thereof which were further calcined at a higher temperature and (2) an organotin chromate containing the group essentially of the formula ##EQU1## and (3) cocatalytic amounts of an alkyl aluminum compound of the formula R.sub.a AlX.sub.b in each of which formula R is a hydrocarbon radical containing from 1 to about 14 carbon atoms, X is hydrogen, halogen or alkoxy, a is an integer of 1 to 3, b is an integer of 0 to 2 and the sum of a and b is 3, the system having an aluminum-chromium ratio of at least 2 to 1.

    摘要: A fastener assembly, such as a nail assembly, includes a row of fasteners held together and maintained in position by an extrudable thermoplastic adhesive composition containing a particulate filler, an extrudable thermoplastic resin reacted with a polar compound, and optional quantities of an additional thermoplastic resin. The adhesive composition provides the fastener assembly with increased rigidity, reduced bending and buckling, and reduced shearing requirements for separating an individual fastener from the row. The invention also includes an adhesive composition useful in the fastener assembly.
