    摘要: A toothpaste dispenser having an upper chamber and an inlet port connected for receiving toothpaste and a lower chamber and an outlet port connected for dispensing toothpaste. Suction is created to draw toothpaste into the inlet port, and then forced through the outlet port during actuation. Initiating operation of the suction pulls toothpaste into an upper chamber, and a plunger for expelling the toothpaste from the chamber is operatively connected to the outflow ball check valve for intermittently blocking the flow of toothpaste into and from the toothpaste dispenser. The toothpaste dispenser utilizes ball check valves and two return springs operatively connected to the ball check valves. The toothpaste dispenser actuation has a plunger and also has a portion size adjustment device connected to the plunger for modifying the amount of toothpaste dispensed from the toothpaste dispenser.

    摘要: An intramedullary device used to stabilize a variety of fractured bones includes a plurality of resilient spine elements. A porous interconnection structure interconnects the spine elements, such as a mesh or a plurality of struts connected between the spine elements. The device expands at one or both ends, and optionally, the shaft of the device can also expand. The end of the device, in its expanded state, has a circumference greater than a circumference of the shaft. The spine elements and/or the interconnection structure are pre-shaped, e.g., composed of a resilient material and pre-shaped, such that the end of the device expands in the absence of an external restraining force. The spine elements and/or interconnection structure can be composed of a shape memory material, such that the expandable end of the device expands when heated to a temperature above a transitional temperature of the shape memory material.

    摘要: The present invention features a removable electrical connector or adapter for securing the contact prongs of an electric plug to a worn outlet. The connector has a housing with at least two opposing, nonconducting side portions. Each side portion has a top and a bottom. Two contact prongs are spaced apart from each other and are movably mounted to at least one of the side portions. The contact prongs extend out of the top of the housing, which housing also has at least one aperture at the bottom. Electrical plug prongs can be inserted through this aperture to make an electrical connection with the set of contact prongs. In another embodiment, the electrical connector is a self-contained plug, permanently attached to its associated electrical appliance, and having movable prongs and a spring for biasing the prongs inwardly, against the contacts of an outlet, after insertion. In yet another embodiment of the invention, a spring is secured to outwardly-biased prongs, so that, upon squeezing the plug and inserting it into the outlet, the prongs are forced to separate and make contact with the inner contacts of the outlet.
