A conductor is disposed within the insulating layer and the insulating layer surrounds the conductor. An electrode is coupled to the lead body, and the electrode is in electrical communication with the conductor. At least one conductive sleeve is disposed within the insulating layer. The at least one conductive sleeve surrounds the conductor and is electrically isolated from the electrode. The at least one conductive sleeve has a first impedance value in a first condition.

    摘要: An intraluminal catheter, such as a guiding catheter, employed for intravascular procedures and having an inner liner formed of expanded Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) is disclosed. The expanded UHMWPE is microporous and has an oriented microstructure structure characterized by nodes interconnected by fibrils. The inner liner formed of expanded UHMWPE is very thin to maximize the inner lumen diameter and has excellent mechanical properties.

    摘要: This document discusses, among other things a cardiac lead with first and second electrodes electrically interconnected by back-to-back diodes or another conductivity control device. During sensing of intrinsic electrical heart signals, these electrodes are isolated from each other by the conductivity control device. This reduces noise during sensing. During pacing or defibrillation, these electrodes are electrically connected to each other by the conductivity control device. When used in common as a return path electrode, this avoids unintentional stimulation of the heart at the return path electrode instead of at the stimulating electrode. The electrodes can also share a common conductor from one of the electrodes back to a proximal end of the lead.
