    Abstract: An automating seed sorting system is provided comprising a tray subsystem, a de-lidding subsystem, an extraction subsystem, and a collection subsystem. The tray subsystem is configured to remove at least one tray from a cart and, subsequently, return the at least one tray to the cart. The de-lidding subsystem is structured and operable to remove a lid from the at least one tray. The extraction subsystem is configured to extract one or more seeds from the at least one tray and release the one or more seeds into a funnel assembly. And, the collection subsystem includes the funnel assembly, wherein the collection subsystem is structured and operable to align at least one receptacle with the funnel assembly and direct the one or more seeds into the at least one receptacle via the funnel assembly.

    Abstract: A seed sampling system is provided having an automated seed loading assembly including a seed bin and being operable to singulate seeds from a plurality of seeds within the seed bin. The system also includes an automated seed sampling assembly operable to remove tissue samples from the singulated seeds, and an automated seed transport assembly operable to transfer the singulated seeds from the seed loading assembly to the seed sampling assembly. The seed transport assembly includes multiple retention members. Each of the retention members is movable relative to the seed loading assembly and to the seed sampling assembly. The seed transport assembly is operable to position one of the multiple retention members adjacent to the seed loading assembly for engaging one of the singulated seeds, while positioning another of the retention members adjacent to the seed sampling assembly for presenting another of the singulated seeds to the seed sampling assembly.

    Abstract: An automated small particle distribution system is provided for transferring small particles from source tubes to destination tubes. The system includes a loading deck that is structured and operable to store and provide a plurality of source tube trays and a plurality of destination tube trays. Each source tube tray includes a plurality of source tubes stored therein, and each destination tube tray includes a plurality of destination tubes stored therein. The system additionally includes a work deck is structured and operable to receive selected source tube trays and selected destination tube trays from the loading deck, aspirate various specified amounts of small objects stored in selected source tubes, and deposit the aspirated small objects into selected destination tubes without cross-contamination of small objects.
