    摘要: In a light water moderation type nuclear reactor with the once-through method, the reactor core is divided into a central area and a peripheral area by a partition member, a first fuel assembly is arranged in the central area (high conversion area) and a second fuel assembly is arranged in the peripheral area. The ratio (r.sub.H/U) of the number of hydrogen atoms to that of uranium atoms in the central area is smaller than that of the ratio in the peripheral area and the second fuel assembly in the peripheral area is formed of fuel rods of the first fuel assembly having been previously burned in the central area and moved into the peripheral area. The plutonium production increases and uranium consumption is reduced during the first half of the lifetime of the fuel rods in the high conversion area with the take-up burn up increasing during the second half of the lifetime of the fuel rods in the burner area.

    摘要: A radiological imaging apparatus of the present invention comprises an image pickup device and a medical examinee holding device that is provided with a bed. The image pickup device includes a large number of radiation detectors and radiation detector support plates. A large number of radiation detectors are mounted around the circumference of a through-hole and arranged in the axial direction of the through-hole. The radiation detectors are arranged in three layers formed radially with respect to the center of the through-hole and mounted on the lateral surfaces of the radiation detector support plates. Since the radiation detectors are not only arranged in the axial direction and circumferential direction of the through-hole but also arrayed in the radial direction, it is possible to obtain accurate information about a γ-ray arrival position in the radial direction of the through-hole (the positional information about a radiation detector from which a γ-ray image pickup signal is output). The use of accurate information about γ-ray arrival increases the tomogram accuracy. As a result, the present invention enhances the tomogram accuracy, that is, the PET examination accuracy.

    摘要: An X-ray CT examination using a radiation examining apparatus corresponding to an X-ray CT is effected on an unbreathed examinee. A tomogram creating apparatus creates a first tomogram, based on an X-ray detect signal outputted from a corresponding radiation detector of the radiation examining apparatus. An X-ray CT examination and a PET examination using a radiation examining apparatus are effected on the breathed examinee. The tomogram creating apparatus creates a second tomogram, based on an X-ray detect signal outputted from a corresponding radiation detector of the radiation examining apparatus and creates a third tomogram, based on a γ-ray detect signal outputted from the corresponding radiation detector. Correction information is created based on the first and second tomograms. The third tomogram is corrected using the correction information. Therefore, the corrected third tomogram can be obtained which is not affected by a swing produced with breathing.

    摘要: A particle beam irradiation system which can increase an availability factor. An ion beam extracted from one proton beam linac is bent at 90 degrees by a switching magnet and is introduced to RI production equipment through a beam line. In the RI production equipment, a RI is produced using the introduced ion beam. An ion beam extracted from the other proton beam linac is bent at 90 degrees by the switching magnet and is introduced to a synchrotron through a beam line. The ion beam extracted from the synchrotron is irradiated to a patient from irradiation equipment. If one proton beam linac comes into an abnormal state, the one proton beam linac is stopped in operation and checked. During the check, the ion beam extracted from the other proton beam linac is selectively introduced to the RI production equipment and the synchrotron by the switching magnet.
