For instance, configuration of an antenna system of a wireless device is adapted to optimize wireless performance in different physical configurations, such as open configurations and folded configurations. Generally, the described techniques optimize performance in different frequency bands based on changes in device configuration between open positions and folded positions.

    摘要: A method and system performs antenna tuning which enhances radio frequency (RF) tuner reliability within a wireless communication device (WCD). The WCD, in response to receiving a request to change an active RF tuning state, retrieves component usage data corresponding to components of a tuning circuit that is tunable to an RF operating channel. The WCD selectively determines, using device environment state data and/or RF state data and the component usage data, an RF tuning state tuned to the RF operating channel. The selected RF tuning state (a) satisfies tuning performance specifications and (b) enhances component reliability performance by minimizing an operational wear on tuning circuit components. The WCD configures the tuning circuit using the selected RF tuning state and tracks session parameter values for tuning circuit components during a corresponding communication session. Following completion of the communication session, the WCD uses the tracked session parameter values to update component usage data.

Generally, the described techniques provide a wireless device with the ability to connect to different access points of a wireless network, such as 4G LTE and 5G NR portions of an UTRAN New Radio—Dual Connectivity (EN-DC)-compliant network. In at least some implementations, the described techniques utilize four-antenna systems configured to utilize low frequency bands, such as LTE low-band and 5G NR low-band frequencies. Further, the described systems enable multiple wireless protocols (e.g., LTE and 5G NR) to be used concurrently and cooperatively, such as to provide 5G NR connectivity utilizing an LTE network infrastructure.

    摘要: An adaptive power amplifier that may be used in a wireless communication device is configured to adjust its load line or output impedance, the number of active amplifier cells in each amplification stage, the bias of the active amplifiers, and the supply voltage input capacitive load in accordance with a supply voltage modulation type provided to the power amplifier. The supply voltage modulation types include ET, APT, DC-DC, dual, multi-state or fixed voltage supply voltages. A supply voltage converter, signaled by a baseband processor, generates the selected type of supply voltage modulation for the adaptive power amplifier. The baseband processor may also provide a control interface signal to a controller within the adaptive power amplifier. The controller, based on the received control interface signal provides a configuration signal that configures the impedance, the number of active amplifier cells, the bias of the active amplifier cells, and the supply voltage capacitive load to optimize the adaptive power amplifier based on the supply voltage modulation type.
