摘要: A closed granular chemical handling system comprising a dispensing valve and a receiving valve. The dispensing valve and the receiving valve are automatically opened when the valves are coupled together, and are automatically closed when the valves are uncoupled from one another. The valves are configured so that the receiving valve always is the first to open and the last to close. The valves are driven together by a camming structure having a neutral portion that acts as a delay between the opening and closing of both values so as to allow granular material to flow from between the valves through the receiving valve.

摘要: An axial flow combine having a crop harvesting header including a feeder for cutting a crop and feeding it rearwardly into a threshing and separating mechanism. The mechanism includes a casing for receiving the crop material and a rotor within the casing for threshing and separating grain from the crop material. A plurality of crop material directing vanes is disposed within the casing and cooperate with the rotor in directing the material generally helically along the casing. Means are included for selectively and simultaneously adjusting the position of the vanes to change the rate of movement of the crop material through the casing.

摘要: An apparatus for accepting unthrashed material that is being fed axially into the cylinder of an axially flow combine. The apparatus includes a three bladed impeller that when rotated generates a frustum of a cone with the larger end of the cone frustum being generated by the leading edges of the impeller blades. The leading edge of each impeller blade being swept back such that the outermost portion of the leading edge of the impeller blade trails a line radiating from the point on the rotor axis where the impeller blade originates from.

摘要: A self-propelled crop harvesting combine having a variable speed crop threshing and separating rotor. The crop material is delivered from a conventional cleaning system into a grain holding tank. A system is provided to determine the ratio of damaged to undamaged grain from predetermined amounts of grain delivered to the grain tank. An electronic control system varies the speed of the rotor in response to changes in the ratio whereby the speed of the threshing mechanism is automatically varied to minimize grain damage in the threshing process.

摘要: In a combine harvester, an array of ground engaging skid shoes or feelers spans the header platform and is divided into right- and left-hand groups, each group associated with a position sensor switch. Each switch transmits to an electrohydraulic control system, a signal representative of the relative position of the skid shoe closest to the ground in its half of the platform. The combined left- and/or right-hand signals are transduced to control platform vertical adjustment and lateral tilt automatically. In one embodiment, a pair of lift cylinders, acting in unison, control platform elevation while a third cylinder is dedicated to tilt control. In other embodiments, paired lift cylinders are controllable independently, to provide both height and tilt control. Supporting the feeder conveyor lower shaft and the header main drive shaft in the laterally pivotable lower forward portion of the feederhouse permits direct transfer of crop material from the platform auger to the feederhouse conveyor and also simplifies header drive arrangements.
