    Abstract: A light emitting module comprising a light guide plate and a light source. The light guide plate has a polygonal shape with a plurality of corners in a plan view. The light guide plate has a first primary face which serves as an emission face, a second primary face opposing the first primary face, and a recessed portion in the second primary face. The light source is disposed in the recessed portion. The recessed portion has an opening on the second primary face, and a bottom face having a polygonal shape in a plan view. The light source has lateral faces along sides of the bottom face of the recessed portion. In a plan view, diagonal lines connecting opposing corners of the first primary face intersect with the sides of the bottom face of the recessed portion.

    Abstract: A light emitting device includes: a lightguide plate including a first surface on which a plurality of first recesses are provided; a light-reflective resin layer located on a bottom portion of each first recess; a plurality of light emitting elements each having an upper surface and a lateral surface, wherein each one of the plurality of light emitting elements is arranged in a corresponding one of the plurality of first recesses; and a plurality of wavelength conversion members, wherein: the upper surface of each light emitting element is attached to the light-reflective resin layer; and each of the plurality of wavelength conversion members covers the lateral surface of the light emitting element in the first recess.

    Abstract: A surface-emitting light source includes a plurality of light-emitting regions each of which includes light sources, wherein each of the plurality of light-emitting regions can be turned on individually. Each of the light-emitting regions is adjacent to each other and includes a light-guide portion that is provided in adjacent light-emitting regions and covers the light sources, and a light-reflective member disposed below the light-guide portion. The light-reflective member has a first wall portion disposed at the outer periphery of each of the light-emitting regions. The first wall portion includes one or more unit first wall portions each of which corresponds to a respective one of the light sources located at the outer periphery of each of the light-emitting regions. The unit first wall portion located at the two adjacent light-emitting regions has a central portion having a height smaller than a height of both end portions.

    Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing a light emitting module, the method including: providing a light guiding plate having a first main surface serving as a lighting surface, and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, the second main surface defining a recess thereon, preparing a light emitting element unit by attaching a wavelength conversion portion to a light emitting element having electrodes and a light emitting surface; providing a light diffusion portion at a bottom of the recess; depositing the light emitting element unit onto the light diffusion portion in the recess; and forming a terminal having an electrical conductivity on the electrodes of the light emitting element.
