    摘要： Presented are polymeric cover panels with permanently affixed plastic fragments for articles of footwear, methods for making/using such cover panels, and footwear fabricated with such cover panels. A cover panel for an article of footwear includes a cover layer that is formed, in whole or in part, from an at least partially transparent polymeric material, such as a hot-melt adhesive, adhesive-coated polymer, or tacky thermoplastic material. The cover panel mounts onto one or more select segments of the footwear upper such that an outer face of the cover layer defines an outermost surface of these select segment(s) of the footwear upper. An assortment of plastic fragments is dispersed across and permanently affixed to an interior face of the cover layer, e.g., such that the plastic fragments are encapsulated between the cover layer and the footwear upper. Each plastic fragment may have a distinct shape, size, and/or color.

The upper may include an exposed outer layer forming at least a portion of an external surface of the upper. The upper may also include a polymer foam material selectively located on an inner side of the exposed outer layer and adjacent portions of the exposed outer layer, thereby forming padded portions of the upper. The padded portions of the upper may be located in areas of the article of footwear that correspond with predetermined bones of a foot of a wearer of the article of footwear.

    摘要： The present disclosure relates to an article of footwear having a sole structure and an upper secured to the sole structure for receiving a foot. The sole structure includes a lasting board and sole plate construction. One of the lasting board and sole plate may have an opening along the center such that there is little to no overlap, or lamination, between the lasting board and the sole plate along the center of the article of footwear. Such a construction may eliminate weight while maintaining the support provided by the layers of the sole. Additionally, such a construction may enhance flexibility. In some embodiments, the article of footwear may include an insole. In some embodiments, the sole structure of the article of footwear may consist of an insole, a lasting board, and a sole plate.
