Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from an accurate detection method. The method may include determining correlation values between a first sequence of samples and at least one pre-defined sequence, detecting whether at least one first peak exists by comparing the correlation values with at least one first detection threshold. If the at least one first peak exists, the method may further include performing summing of at least a subset of the correlation values and detecting whether at least one second peak exists by comparing the summed correlation values with a second detection threshold.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from a reduction in latency. For example, communication systems may benefit from an improved transmission of an uplink reference signal in an uplink channel. A method, in certain embodiments, includes determining by a user equipment a candidate location of a transmission of an uplink reference signal in a channel. The method also includes determining by the user equipment a triggering window associated with the candidate location of the transmission of the uplink reference signal in the channel. In addition, the method includes receiving an uplink grant for a data transmission from a base station. Further, the method includes transmitting the uplink reference signal based on the uplink grant being at least partially within the triggering window.

Abstract: A technique may include controlling downlink transmission of an uplink grant for one or more uplink data transmissions by a communication device. The uplink grant identifies one combination from a set of predetermined combinations of one or more transmission time intervals and one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, including at least one combination of two or more transmission time intervals and one or more uplink reference signal transmissions. The technique may also include using the one or more uplink reference signal transmissions of the identified combination to assist the recovery of data from the one or more uplink radio data transmissions by the communication device in the one or more transmission time intervals of the identified combination.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate coordination of measurements for mobility or other reasons. For example, Long Term Evolution communication systems may benefit from signaling for uplink short transmission time interval transmissions. A method can include determining how a user equipment is to transmit with respect to a demodulation reference signal. The method can also include providing uplink grant to schedule the user equipment to transmit according to the determination.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for reference signal adaptation based on incoming user mobility information are provided. One method includes receiving, by a target base station, a request to begin transmitting reference signals for mobility measurements. The request may be received from a source base station serving a user equipment. In addition, the request may be received when a handover of the user equipment is impending.
