摘要: A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium for beam refinement of a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure are provided. In some implementations, the method may include receiving a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), a plurality of channel state information-reference signals (CSI-RSs) associated with each of the plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), and random access channel (RACH) configuration data from a gNB. The method may further include transmitting a first message of the two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure to the gNB, the first message including a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a preamble associated with a selected channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) of the plurality of channel state information-reference signals (CSI-RSs) and the second portion includes data associated with the preamble, and the data transmitted using pre-configured or pre-allocated resources.

摘要: Various communication systems may benefit from improved cell selection. For example, it may be helpful to improve cell selection in new radio systems based on individual synchronization signal blocks meeting specific thresholds. A method may include measuring at a user equipment a cell quality of one or more cells. The method may also include detecting at the user equipment synchronization signal blocks in the one or more cells. In addition, the method may include determining at the user equipment that the synchronization signal blocks do not meet a random access channel resource selection threshold. Further, the method may include selecting at the user equipment only random access channel resources that correspond to the synchronization signal blocks meeting a cell selection threshold.

摘要: A technique of performing a RACK procedure includes a framework for a two-step RACK in which a first message (MsgA) from the UE to the gNB has data carrying resources (i.e., PUSCH) is organized into a time-frequency array defined by a mapping to a plurality of preambles. Such a two-step RACK has less latency than the four-step RACK due to fewer signaling exchanges. Moreover, this two-step RACK also causes the UE to use less power due to a decreased signaling overhead.

According to an embodiment, a method may include, for each PDCCH search space candidate, one or more UE beams may be configured and/or assigned that correspond to one or more of the configured beam pairs. For each PDCCH search space candidate, one or more beam pairs, based on one or more corresponding downlink RS for beam management, may correspond to a configured UE beam. The UE may detect a PDCCH. Upon detecting a PDCCH, the UE can identify one or more configured beam pairs or a default beam pair within the PDCCH search space candidates.

摘要: A user equipment (UE) selects first and second radio resources from respective first and second pools of radio resources. In one example these are primarily allocated for contention-free and scheduling-based channel access, respectively. Content to duplicate in parallel communications is selected based at least on a characteristic of uplink data waiting to be sent (such as size) and/or on the selected first and second radio resources (such as timing difference between them). The UE transmits the selected content on each of the selected first and second radio resources. In the examples the content to duplicate was selected from among the uplink data to send and a scheduling request message. In various embodiments one of these transmissions indicates it's a duplicate, and the duplicated scheduling request message is transmitted on the first resource with the uplink data. These teachings are particularly useful for URLLC data.

摘要: A method including, detecting, by a base station in a wireless communication system, within an RAR window, at least one of multiple first messages from a plurality of user equipments, wherein the plurality of user equipments is permitted to transmit multiple first messages within the RAR window, and wherein each first message includes a PRACH preamble; in response to receiving at least one PRACH preamble in the at least one of multiple first messages, transmitting at least one second message including an RAR downlink channel for each preamble received; receiving at least one third message, from at least one user equipment of the plurality of user equipments, including a beam connection request and transmitting at least one fourth message to the at least one user equipment on the requested beam.
