摘要: The present invention discloses a neck strengthening apparatus adaptable to provide physical conditioning and therapeutic benefits. The neck strengthening apparatus comprises a headgear that employing a weight member to provide a predetermined mechanical load to user's neck and spine. The headgear with weight member could be used to exercise the neck as well as to reduce the incidents and severity of concussions and other injuries. Various fastener members are used to detachably fasten the weight member to the anterior or forehead area of the headgear. The weight member could be fastened at a temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) of the headgear. The neck strengthening apparatus can effectively strengthening and conditioning the user's neck muscles. The apparatus is configured to target on the neck muscles effectively during exercises and in practice sessions.

摘要: The invention relates to a compact transmitter optical sub-assembly (OSA), which can be used in small form factor optical transceivers. To limit back reflections from entering the laser cavity, the laser is disposed on a silicon optical bench (SiOB) at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the OSA. A portion of the light from the laser cavity passes through the back end of the laser cavity for measuring by a monitor photodiode. A rear beam steering lens redirects the portion of light into a v-groove in the SiOB and off of a reflective surface formed in the end thereof to the monitor photodiode, which is positioned face down over the v-groove.

摘要: A disaster relief hub box system includes a hub box, instructions, and damage assessment materials. The hub box may comprise a door that is hingedly coupled to the hub box. To open the door, a user may use a key or coin to turn a lock. Once the door is opened, clipboards with instructions, a radio, and the damage assessment form may be provided to community members to organize the community and address any emergency situation. The hub box may be opened by any individual without the need of a key, allowing it to be accessible to anyone day or night. To deter vandalism and notify community members of a possible emergency, an alarm may be positioned inside the hub box and activated when the door is opened.

摘要: A high power light source having an array, bundle or separate plurality of laser diodes coupled to a same number of multimode waveguides to collect beams of light emitted from the of laser diodes is provided. An optical combiner receives the beams of light and combines the beams of light into a single forward propagating beam of light so that substantially all optical radiation within each beam of light overlaps the optical radiation each other beam to form the single beam. A reflective element is located to receive the single forward propagating beam of light and transmits greater than 60% of the single forward propagating beam of light therethrough. The reflective element reflects between 3-40% of the single forward propagating beam back to the laser diodes as feedback to stabilize said laser diodes.
