    摘要: A wireless communications device is disclosed. The wireless communications device is configured to support a call over a cellular network or an IP network to a remote communications device. The wireless communications device is further configured to handoff the call between the cellular network and the IP network.     摘要: A wireless device and method of operating the device is disclosed. The wireless device is capable of communicating with multiple networks. The wireless device includes a transceiver configured to communicate with either one of two networks over a wireless medium. Each of the two networks has a different air interface protocol. The wireless device also includes a user interface having a keypad, display, and/or similar devices. A processor in the wireless device may be configured to select either one of the two networks for wireless communications with the transceiver. In at least one embodiment, the processor is configured to communicate with the transceiver using the air interface protocol for the selected network, and communicate with the user interface using a root protocol regardless of the network selected.

    摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate mitigating a hidden node condition in a wireless mesh network wherein nodes utilize a request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) protocol in conjunction with an asynchronous hybrid automatic repeat request protocol. For instance, a node may contend for a set of subcarriers by sending an RTS signal over the desired subcarriers, and may receive a CTS signal over the contended subcarriers, wherein the CTS signal indicates which subcarriers the node may transmit data over. If another node has won the contention for a particular subcarrier, requesting node may adjust a power level at which it transmits an RTS or a data packet in order to permit the requesting node to utilize the subcarrier without interfering with the winning node.

    摘要: The disclosure is directed to methods and apparatuses for seamless and efficient wireless handoffs of an access terminal between access points in a communication network. The access points include memory configured to buffer packets received from a network for the access terminal, a processor configured to queue one of the packets for over the air transmission to the access terminal and fragment the data in the queued packet into multiple frames, and a transmitter configured to transmit the framed data over the air to the access terminal. The processor is further configured to maintain an indicator relating to the portion of the data in the queued packet that remains to be transmitted.

    摘要: The diclosure is directed to methods and apparatuses for seamless and efficient wireless handoffs of an acess terminal betweeen acess points in a communication network. The acess points include memory configured to buffer packets received from a network for the acess terminal, a processor configured to queue one of the packets for over the air tranmission to the acess terminal and fragment the data in the queued packet into multiple frames, and a transmitter configured to transmit the framed data over the air to the access terminal.
