The method comprises effecting photometry of light reflected from an object which is to be observed and which is illuminated only by light from the illumination unit, and causing a movement of the optical system to focus it, the magnitude of the movement being determined by the amount of light measured by the photometric operation.

    摘要: A lens unit including a first lens including a first lens section having a first optical axis along which light passes, and a second lens. The second lens includes a second lens section having a second optical axis along which light passes, and a flange provided at the outer circumferential part of the second lens section and having a surface opposed to the first lens, and a tubular section extending from the flange in the direction of the second optical axis and having an inner side face opposed to the second lens section. The first lens is fitted in the tubular section and in contact with the inner side face of the tubular section of the second lens. The tubular section of the second lens has a plurality of protrusions protruding in the direction of the second optical axis and a plurality of valleys provided between the protrusions.

A supporting member supports a substrate for semiconductor devices on one surface thereof. A dicing blade dices the substrate supported by the supporting member along dicing lines provided on the substrate to divide the substrate into a plurality of semiconductor devices. In a plan view, the edge of the supporting member's surface supporting the substrate overlaps a semiconductor device located at an outermost position of the substrate and lies inside a dicing line at an outermost position of the substrate.
