摘要: In a delivery apparatus in a machine for preparing hollow vessels by delivering mandrels supporting thereon preforms and vessels through a preform-heating zone and a draw-blow-forming zone, the downward movement of a mandrel-clamping mechanism is utilized for insertion of a preform into the mandrel and the rising movement of the clamping mechanism is utilized for withdrawal of a formed vessel. By this arrangement, insertion and fixation of preforms into mandrels and withdrawal of formed vessels from mandrels can be performed continuously, assuredly and smoothly in one apparatus while saving the waste in the blow-forming operation. If the operation of reversing the clamping mechanism is added, any particular device need not be disposed for reversing preforms.

摘要: An apparatus for preparing a drawn heat-set plastic hollow vessel, which comprises a rotary member having a plurality of openable-closable blow-forming and heat-setting molds and preform-supporting mechanisms corresponding to said molds, a preform supply mechanism for supplying a preform maintained at a drawing temperature into the mold of the rotary member at the opening position and a vessel withdrawal mechanism for withdrawing a drawn and heat-set vessel from the mold of the rotary member at the opening position, wherein the rotary member comprises a mold-heating mechanism for maintaining the molds at a heat-setting temperature through the entire rotation course of the rotary member, an opening and closing mechanism for closing the molds after passage through the position of the preform supply mechanism and opening the molds before arrival at the position of the vessel withdrawal mechanism, a sealing member capable of reciprocating relatively to the preform supported by the preform support mechanism while having a sealing engagement with the mouth portion of the preform, a hollow drawing rod arranged concentrically with the sealing member to reciprocate so that the drawing rod is inserted into the preform and drawn out therefrom.

摘要: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a heat-resistant polyester hollow formed body, which comprises mounting a preform of a thermoplastic polyester composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units, which is maintained at a temperature where high-speed drawing is possible but whitening can be prevented, especially at a temperature represented by the following formula:T=K(100.multidot.IV-8.multidot.DEG+42) (1)wherein IV stands for the intrinsic viscosity (dl/g) of the thermoplastic polyester, DEG stands for the content (% by weight) of diethylene glycol units in the thermoplastic polyester, k is a number of from 0.95 to 1.05, and T stands for the temperature (.degree.C.) of the preform,in a hollow forming mold maintained at a temperature as high as possible within the range where a final hollow formed body can be withdrawn without deformation substantially under non-cooling, blowing air maintained at a temperature higher than the preform temperature into the preform to effect stretch drawing and expansion drawing so that the drawing speed in the axial direction is at least 250%/sec and the drawing speed in the circumferential direction is at least 450%/sec, and effecting heat setting while the preform is being draw-formed.According to this process, a polyester hollow formed vessel excellent in the resistance to thermal contraction can be prepared at a very high manufacturing speed.

摘要: An apparatus for the preparation of a vessel having a handle, which includes an injection mold having a cavity for forming a handle having an endless holding portion and an endless attachment portion; an injection molding mechanism for injecting a resin for the handle into the cavity of the injection mold; a blow-forming or draw-blow-forming split mold having a parting surface that can be closed, cavity assembly which is arranged in the split mold plane-symmetrically with the parting surface and includes an inserting cavity for containing the handle therein, and a forming cavity which has a neck-forming cavity, a barrel-forming cavity, a closed bottom-forming cavity, a recess-forming cavity formed at a part of the barrel-forming cavity so that the diameter of a deepest part of the recess-forming cavity is substantially equal to or slightly larger than the diameter of the neck-forming cavity, a projection-forming cavity for forming a projection to project and extend through the attachment portion almost to the center of the recess-forming cavity, and a flange-forming cavity formed on the top end of the projection-forming cavity to have a section expanded over the projection-forming cavity; a mechanism for supplying a blowing pressure into a preform held by the split mold to effect blow-forming or draw-blow-forming of the preform; a pushing pin that can be pressed into the flange-forming cavity; and a pushing pin-driving mechanism.

摘要: An apparatus for cooling a transfer mandrel on whose top portion a thermoplastic resin parison is mounted and which is rotatably engaged with the peripheral portion of a rotary table. The apparatus is arranged along the peripheral portion of the rotary table adapted to rotate oppositely to a heating means. The apparatus comprises a cooling block having a cavity through which cooling water flows and a concave surface opposing to the transfer mandrel which has a profile conforming to the cylindrical portion of the transfer mandrel, means for adjusting the position of the cooling block, and a spring which pushes a surface portion opposite said concave surface of the cooling block.
