Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for utilizing uplink (UL) CoMP helper data are provided. One method includes setting, by a network node serving a user equipment, a priority for a helper data request of an uplink transmission of the user equipment. The setting may include setting the priority based on a specific history of the user equipment. The method may also include sending the helper data request to another network node and, optionally, sending the priority set for the helper data request to said another network node.
Abstract:
Certain example embodiments may generally relate to multi-security levels/traffic management across multiple network function instantiations, including virtualized network function instantiations. A method may include configuring a first instantiation of a first network function to provide a first type of security. The method may also include configuring a second instantiation of the first network function to provide a second type of security that is different than the first type of security. The method may further include allocating at least some of the subscriber traffic to the first instantiation.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may have various mechanisms for handling data loss. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from appropriate handling of uplink coordinated multipoint helper data loss on a subset of symbols within a transmission time interval. A method can include receiving helper data corresponding to a portion of an uplink subframe. The method can also include performing coordinated multipoint processing on the portion of the uplink subframe using the helper data.
Abstract:
Network insights may be useful in various communication networks. For example, certain cellular or similar networks may benefit from the delivery of cellular network insights to subscriber devices through service set identifier (SSID). A method can include detecting, by a device, at least one advertised value of non-cellular access, wherein the at least one advertised value is received by the device over a cellular system information block message. The method can also include extracting, from the at least one advertised value, at least one cellular network insight for a cellular network condition.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate indications of protocol support. For example, certain wireless communication systems may use a multicast paging message for indicating proprietary protocol support. A method can include listening, at a user equipment, for a proprietary information message. The proprietary message can be configured to be un-interpreted by non-configured user equipment. The listening can be configured to follow a predefined timing. The method can also include interpreting the proprietary information according to a predetermined configuration when the message is received by the user equipment.
Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising comparing a security requirement for a higher level function with respective security levels of one or more virtualized lower level functions, wherein each of the one or more virtualized lower level functions is capable to deploy the higher level function; selecting a selected virtualized lower level function of the one or more virtualized lower level functions, wherein the security level of the selected virtualized lower level function is equal to or higher than the security requirement; instantiating the higher level function on the selected virtualized lower level function.
Abstract:
Network insights may be useful in various communication networks. For example, certain cellular or similar networks may benefit from the delivery of cellular network insights to subscriber devices based on virtual international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI). For example, a method can include detecting, by a device, at least one paging message over a cellular system. The method can also include extracting, from the at least one paging message, at least one cellular network insight including at least one cellular network condition. The paging message may include a virtual IMSI.
Abstract:
Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate prioritization of users and/or devices. For example, wireless communication systems may benefit from multi-subscription network prioritization, such as systems for prioritizing subscribers with multiple subscriptions that are using fewer devices than they have subscriptions. A method can include determining that a device is associated with a plurality of subscriptions. The method can also include determining at least one related device is not in use, wherein the at least one related device is associated with same plurality of subscriptions. The method can further include assigning a higher priority to the device based on the determinations that the device has the plurality of associated subscriptions and has at least one related device not in use.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products relating to communication configuration preferences are provided. One method includes a user equipment causing the transmission to a network node an indication of a preferred network configuration. The method may also include causing the transmission of an indication of a preference for at least one condition when the indicated preference of the preferred network configuration should expire or resume.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for selective over the air reconfiguration of unicast MBSFN are provided. One method may include detecting whether a system is physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) limited. When it is detected that the system is physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) limited, the method may include reducing a percentage of subframes that are using unicast multimedia broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN). When it is detected that the system is not physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) limited, the method may include increasing the percentage of subframes that are using unicast multimedia broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN).
