Abstract: An endoscope apparatus includes first and second optical lenses that are separately provided at a distal end portion of an endoscope, and form first and second optical images, respectively, an optical path length changing filter that makes optical path lengths of the first and second optical images different, an image pickup device that performs image pickup of the first and second optical images to generate first and second image pickup signals, and a processor that generates first and second images from the first and second image pickup signals, corrects parallax, removes an area including a figure present only in one of the first and second images, and combines respective focusing areas of the first and second images to generate an endoscope image.

Abstract: An endoscope includes: a first image acquisition portion configured to acquire a first object image from a first direction; a second image acquisition portion configured to acquire a second object image from a second direction different from the first direction; first illumination light emission portions provided on a straight line with the first image acquisition portion, the first image acquisition portion being interposed between the first illumination light emission portions, and arranged along a line orthogonal to an optical axis of the first image acquisition portion; and second illumination light emission portions lined up and arranged on a plane where the second image acquisition portion is arranged at the insertion portion, and a lining direction of the first illumination light emission portions and a lining direction of the second illumination light emission portions are arranged at positions to be a twisted relation.

Abstract: An endoscope system includes: an insertion portion configured to be inserted into an inside of an object; a forward observation window configured to acquire a forward field-of-view image; a lateral observation window configured to acquire a lateral field-of-view image; and a control portion. The control portion detects an amount of change in an image signal in a predetermined judgment area in at least one of the forward field-of-view image and the lateral field-of-view image within a predetermined time period, judges a use state of the insertion portion based on a result of the detection, and controls an image signal of the forward field-of-view image and an image signal of the lateral field-of-view image to be outputted to a monitor capable of displaying the forward field-of-view image and the lateral field-of-view image, according to the judged use state.
