摘要: An endoscope including a handle and a distal tip. The distal tip includes with a transparent front window, an image sensor having a rectangular shape, and a lightguide. The lightguide includes a circumferential surface configured to provide total internal reflection of light emitted from a light source. Cross-sections of the lightguide include four corners arranged around a centre axis so as to define four edges subdividing the circumferential surface into four side surfaces. The edges extend with a predetermined angle with respect to the centre axis and have a curvature where the angle of the surface with respect to the centre axis increases from the edges towards the middle of the side surface.

摘要: The disclosure relates to an endoscopic system that includes an image sensor, an emitter and an electromagnetic radiation driver. The image sensor includes a pixel array and is configured to generate and read out pixel data for an image based on electromagnetic radiation received by the pixel array. The pixel array includes a plurality of lines for reading out pixel data. The pixel array also has readout period that is the length of time for reading out all plurality of lines of pixel data in the pixel array. The emitter is configured to emit electromagnetic radiation for illumination of a scene observed by the image sensor. The electromagnetic radiation driver is configured to drive emissions by the emitter. The electromagnetic radiation driver includes a jitter specification less than or equal to about 10% to about 25% percent of the readout period of the pixel array of the image sensor.

摘要: An endoscope can comprise a proximal section, an insertion section extending longitudinally from the proximal section and comprising an elongate tubular body disposed along an insertion section longitudinal axis and a lumen extending through the elongate tubular body, and a distal section extending from the insertion section and comprising an elevator portion comprising an elevator configured to position and orient one or more endotherapy tools extending from the lumen, and a camera module comprising an illumination unit and an imaging unit. The camera module can be positioned longitudinally spaced apart from the elevator portion in an in-line configuration, such that the insertion tube longitudinal axis passes through the elevator portion and the camera module. The camera module can be user-detachable from the elevator portion. The camera module can be cleaned and sanitized for reuse and the insertion section can be disposable.

摘要: Cardiac tissue ablation catheters including an inflatable and flexible toroidal or spherically shaped balloon disposed at a distal region of an elongate member, a flexible circuit carried by an outer surface of the balloon, the flexible circuit including, a plurality of flexible branches conforming to the radially outer surface of the balloon, each of the plurality of flexible branches including a substrate, a conductive trace carried by the substrate, and an ablation electrode carried by the substrate, the ablation electrode in electrical communication with the conductive trace, and an elongate shaft comprising a guidewire lumen extending in the elongate member and extending from a proximal region of the inflatable balloon to distal region of the inflatable balloon and being disposed within the inflatable balloon, wherein a distal region of the elongate shaft is secured directly or indirectly to the distal region of the inflatable balloon.

摘要: An image capturing device includes: an image capturing system having an optical axis; and at least one illumination system disposed at a position so as to surround the optical axis. The illumination system includes: a reflective surface deflecting part of illumination light; a refractive surface deflecting the other part of the illumination light and the illumination light reflected by the reflective surface; and an emission surface from which the illumination light refracted by the refractive surface is emitted. In a cross section including the optical axis, the reflective surface has an area inclined in such a direction as to become farther away from the optical axis, the refractive surface has an area inclined in such a direction as to approach the optical axis and is disposed between the reflective and emission surfaces. The emission end is disposed at a radial position between rear ends of the refractive and reflective surfaces.

摘要: This invention relates generally to a medical device, and more specifically, to a vaginal surgical apparatus. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes an elongated handle portion having a first end and a second end; a vaginal manipulator probe that is at least partly insertable into a vagina, the vaginal manipulator probe extending from the elongated handle portion and including an arcuate end portion that is curved away from a longitudinal axis of the vaginal manipulator probe to a tip, the arcuate end portion including a channel that has a diameter that accommodates a cervix therewithin, the tip defined by distention that increases a cross-sectional height between a bottom surface and a top surface of the vaginal manipulator probe; and a disk that is movable along at least a portion of a length of the vaginal manipulator probe.

An image sensor may be provided within the endoscopic system and disposed at a distal end of the single optical fiber. The endoscopic system may be additionally fitted with a diffuser on the distal end of the single optical fiber which outputs a light cone that is broader than an output of the single optical fiber without the diffuser.

摘要: An otoscope comprising a handle portion and a head portion substantially tapering along its longitudinal axis, wherein the head portion has a proximal end adjacent to the handle portion and a smaller distal end configured to be introduced in an outer ear canal. The otoscope comprises an optical electronic imaging unit at the distal end of the head portion, especially at a distal tip of the head portion, wherein the electronic imaging unit exhibits at least one optical axis which is radially offset from the longitudinal axis, and wherein the distal end is configured for accommodating the electronic imaging unit in such a way that the radial offset can be maximum with respect to the diameter of the distal end.
