Abstract: An endoscope system includes: an insertion portion inserted into a subject; a forward image pickup device configured to acquire a first subject image from a first direction; an image pickup device configured to acquire a second subject image from a second direction; and an image processing section configured to generate a bird's-eye view image based on a bird's-eye view subject image looking down on the subject from a virtual point of view away from the insertion portion and configured to execute a process of associating the first subject image and the first direction in the bird's-eye view subject image and associating the second subject image and the second direction in the bird's-eye view subject image.

Abstract: An endoscope system includes an insertion portion, an observation window provided in the insertion portion and configured to acquire a forward visual field image, an observation window provided in the insertion portion and configured to acquire a lateral visual field image, and an image processing portion. The image processing portion detects a set detection target in the lateral visual field image, generates an image signal of the forward visual field image and an image signal of the lateral visual field image, and in the case that the detection target is detected, outputs the image signal of the forward visual field image and the image signal of the lateral visual field image.

Abstract: An endoscope system includes: illuminating windows configured to emit a first illuminating light to the front and a second illuminating light to the side inside the subject; an observation window configured to acquire an image of the subject from the front; an observation window configured to acquire an image of the subject from the side; an image generation portion configured to generate a first image based on an image of the subject from the front and a second image based on an image of the subject from the side; a control portion configured to compare brightnesses of the first image and the second image; a polarization filter configured to adjust the amount of at least one of the first illuminating light and the second illuminating light; and a drive portion configured to drive a polarization filter on the basis of a result of the brightness comparison by the control portion.
