Abstract: Disclosed herein are nanostructured electrodes and methods of making and use thereof. The nanostructured precursor electrodes comprising a copper substrate, a nanostructured copper oxide layer disposed on the copper substrate and a nickel layer disposed on the nanostructured copper oxide layer.
