摘要: The present invention relates to systems and methods for a implementing an optimized power conservation communication protocol, wherein the communication link is flexible and the power consumption characteristics are optimized. One facet of the system's flexibility relates to the system's ability to negotiate device control roles associated with a polling communication link. Also, once the device control roles are in place and the communication link is established, the system selectively implements a number of polling protocols for a multitude of applications that need a low power consumption. In some embodiments the system maintains a communication link with a reduced frequency polling protocol. This type of communication link maintains efficient power consumption characteristics, as well as, connection times that are faster than establishing a communication link between disconnected devices.

摘要: A system for conveying wireless information between an advertising device (advertiser) and another wireless communication device (receiving device). The advertiser's broadcast signal (advertisement) may inform the receiving device that information is available from the advertiser without the requirement of establishing a formal network connection. This information may be then be conveyed, by request, to the receiving device. Further, the advertising device may, in some instances, continue to broadcast to other receiving devices even though it is already engaged in a formal network connection with a receiving device.

摘要: The invention relates to a method in a wireless communication system (1) which includes wireless terminals (MT1-MT4) and at least one access point (AP1, AP2) and access point controller (APC1, APC2). At least one antenna configuration is determined for an antenna (30) of the wireless terminal (MT1-MT4). In the method, the antenna (30) of the wireless terminal (MT1-MT4) is used for receiving a radio signal and the strength of the radio signal received by the antenna (30) of the wireless terminal (MT1-MT4) is measured. A measurement message (HD1, D1) is formed of one or more measurements, which is transmitted from the wireless terminal (MT1-MT4) to the access point (AP1, AP2). Further in the method, data (UAC) about the antenna configuration during the measurement is added into the measurement message (HD1, D1).

摘要: The present invention provides techniques for responding to overlapping conditions in wireless communications networks include receiving data transmissions from a transmitting device across a wireless communications network. These data transmissions correspond to a connection with the transmitting device and occur within a reserved portion of a communications resource. An interference condition is detected that includes an allocation of the communications resource for a neighboring device that overlaps with the reserved portion. Based on this detection, the method sends a notification to the transmitting device, the notification indicating the presence of overlapping transmissions in the reserved portion of the communications resource.
