摘要: An implantable system includes an implantable medical device (IMD) and a non-transvenous lead that is configured to be implanted outside of a heart. The IMD includes an output configured to be connected at least to the lead, a current generator (CG) circuit configured to generate pacing pulses, a switching circuit coupled between the CG circuit and the output, one or more capacitors coupled in parallel with the CG circuit and the switching circuit, and a control circuit coupled to the CG circuit. The control circuit is configured to manage the CG circuit to generate the pacing pulses with a constant current at the output.

摘要: Methods and devices for managing establishment of a communications link between an external instrument (EI) and an implantable medical device (IMD) are provided. The methods and devices comprise storing, in memory in at least one of the IMD or the EI an advertising schedule defining a pattern for advertisement notices. The advertisement notices are distributed un-evenly and separated by unequal advertisement intervals. The method transmits, from a transmitter in at least one of the IMD or the EI the advertisement notices. The advertisement notices are distributed as defined by the advertising schedule. The method establishes a communication session between the IMD and the EI.

摘要: A method is provided for establishing a communication session with an implantable medical device (“IMD”). The method includes configuring an IMD and an external device to communicate with one another through a protocol that utilizes a dedicated advertisement channel. The advertisement period and the scan period of the protocol are independent of one another such that the advertisement and scan periods at least partially overlap intermittently after a number of cycles. When the external device detects one of the advertisement notices, the method includes establishing a communications link between the external device and the IMD.

A battery indicator or link condition of the communications link is between the IMD and EI. The method further changes from the first connection interval to a second connection interval based on the connection criteria.

The wireless bi-directional communication link is established based on a scanning interval. The external instrument includes one or more processors electrically coupled to a radio frequency (RF) circuit and a memory device. The one or more processors are configured to define the scanning interval based on an advertising schedule received from the IMD.

摘要: The present disclosure provides neurostimulation methods and system for deep brain stimulation. A neurostimulation system for deep brain stimulation includes a burr hole plug including a cover and a base, and at least one deep brain stimulation (DBS) lead extending through an aperture defined through the base, the at least one DBS lead including at least one DBS electrode configured to apply stimulation to a subject. The system further includes an implantable pulse generator (IPG), an extension electrically coupling the IPG to the at least one DBS lead, and an indifferent electrode positioned proximate the at least one DBS electrode to facilitate reducing an area between the indifferent electrode and the at least one DBS electrode.

摘要: A method for operating an implantable medical device (IMD) implanted within a patient may include scanning for a wakeup request signal from an external programmer over a first frequency band at a first power level, switching to communication over a second frequency band at a second power level after the IMD detects the wakeup request signal, wherein the switching operation initiates an initial data exchange session during a common connected time period between the IMD and the external programmer, and cycling between the first and second power levels during the common connected time period based on whether data is being exchanged between the external programmer and the IMD.

摘要: Computer implemented methods and systems are provided that comprise, under control of one or more processors of a medical device, where the one or more processors are configured with specific executable instructions. The methods and systems include sensing circuitry configured to define a sensing channel to collect biological signals, memory configured to store program instructions, a processor configured to implement the program instructions to at least one of analyze the biological signals, manage storage of the biological signals or deliver a therapy, and communication circuitry configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one other implantable or external device, the communication circuitry configured to transition between a sleep state, a partial awake state and a fully awake state. When in the fully awake state, the communication circuitry is configured to execute tasks and actions associated with a communications protocol startup (CPS) instruction set that includes an advertisement scanning related (ASR) instruction subset and a non-ASR instruction subset. When in the partially awake state, the communication circuitry is configured to execute, as the ASR instruction subset, transmit advertising notices over one or more channels according to a wireless communications protocol, scan the one or more channels for a connection request from an external device. When a connection request is not received, return to the sleep state, without performing actions or tasks associated with the non-ASR instruction subset of the CPA instruction set.
