Abstract: An on-vehicle device includes: a transmitter that transmits a request signal and a first measurement signal to a mobile device; and a receiver that receives a first response signal including information related to transmission strength of a second measurement signal from the mobile device that has received the request signal and the first measurement signal transmitted from the transmitter. The transmitter transmits to the mobile device the second measurement signal to which transmission strength has been set based on the information related to the transmission strength included in the first response signal received by the receiver. The receiver receives a second response signal. The second response signal is transmitted by the mobile device based on a result of determining the second measurement signal.

Abstract: An actuator device comprises an actuator wire, a net-shaped heating element which covers a side surface of the actuator wire and comprises heating wires, and a controller for supplying electric power to the net-shaped heating element to heat the net-shaped heating element. The actuator wire is contracted by application of heat and restored by release of the heat. The side surface of the actuator wire is formed of a polymer. One end of the net-shaped heating element is connected to an end of the actuator wire. Another end of the net-shaped heating element is connected to another end of the actuator wire. Each of the heating wires comprises an insulative first elastic yarn and a metal wire. The metal wire are helically wound onto the first elastic yarn. When the net-shaped heating element is not heated, the net-shaped heating element is in contact with the side surface of the actuator wire. When the net-shaped heating element is heated, the net-shaped heating element moves outward from the side surface of the actuator wire due to contraction of the actuator wire.

Abstract: A transmitter of an on-vehicle device transmits a request signal from a first antenna, and transmits first measurement signals at different timings from the first antenna and a second antenna. The receiver receives a first response signal including information on transmission intensities of a second measurement signals to be transmitted from the first and second antennas. The transmitter further transmits the second measurement signals at different timings from the first and second antennas. The second measurement signals have transmission intensities respectively set based on the information on transmission intensities included in the first response signal. The receiver receives a second response signal transmitted when a relationship between the reception intensities of the second measurement signals transmitted from the first and second antennas agrees with the information on the transmission intensities included in the first response signal.

Abstract: This short-distance radio communication system for a vehicle includes an in-vehicle unit having more than one antenna and a portable unit performing radio communications with the in-vehicle unit. The in-vehicle unit transmits a first burst together with a call signal for calling the portable unit through a first antenna, and transmits a second burst subsequent to the first burst through a second antenna. The portable unit receives the signals transmitted from the in-vehicle unit, measures respective received signal strength indicators from the first burst and the second burst contained in the received signals, and responds to the in-vehicle unit according to results of comparing the respective indicators with given thresholds.

Abstract: A vehicle monitoring apparatus includes a hardware processor functioning as an image acquisition unit, an abnormality information acquisition unit, a damage determination unit, and a damage reporting unit. The image acquisition unit serves to acquire a captured image including an image representation of an exterior of a vehicle body of a vehicle. The abnormality information acquisition unit serves to acquire vehicle-body abnormality information indicating an abnormality in the vehicle body. The damage determination unit serves to determine presence or absence of damage to the vehicle body on the basis of the captured image and the vehicle-body abnormality information. The damage reporting unit serves to report, to an information processing apparatus, a damage report including the captured image or an image generated on the basis of the captured image. The damage report is reported in accordance with on a result of the determination on the damage.

Abstract: This vehicular near field communication system has a configuration where a portable device receives a first signal and a second signal respectively transmitted from a vehicle-exterior antenna and a vehicle-interior antenna of an on-board instrument mounted in a vehicle, measures a first received signal strength from the first signal, measures a second received signal strength from the second signal, adds an offset to the second received signal strength, and transmits a response signal to the on-board instrument in accordance with the first received signal strength and the second received signal strength added with the offset, so as to be able to prevent a portable device from being locked in a cabin even though the portable device is shielded by a metal in the cabin.

The transmitter changes a number of times of transmission of the measurement signal transmitted subsequently to the request signal based on whether or not the communication of the communication unit is in a connected state.
