    摘要: Methods and compositions for linearly amplifying mRNA from small RNA samples to produce antisense RNA are provided In the subject methods, mRNA is converted to a transcription template product by using a promoter primer, where the resultant product at least includes a first strand cDNA template domain and a double-stranded RNA polymerase promoter. A feature of the subject methods is that the ratio of the promoter-primer to the input RNA is chosen to provide for a high yield of selective RNA product. Additional optional features include the use of a thermostabilizing agent, e.g., raffinose, trehalose, etc., in the reverse transcription step and/or the use of a polyalkylene oxide, e.g., a PEG, in the in vitro transcription step. Also provided are compositions and kits that find use in practicing the subject methods. The subject invention finds use a variety of different applications in which the preparation of linearly amplified amounts of cRNA is desired.

    摘要: Board level conditions associated with the operation of multiple LEDs are sensed and used to control a driver that powers the LEDs. The driver is controlled via a 0-10V control interface. The board-level conditions include, but are not limited to, temperature, ambient light, light intensity, operating time, time of day, current, and voltage. An on-board intelligent (OBI) controller processes the 0-10V control signal before it is provided to the driver to better control the LEDs. In some systems the OBI controller works in conjunction with a separate 0-10V controller that controls one or more luminaires.

The compartment within the base of the beverage container has a rupture portion located within the space between the outer and inner walls, and pressure on the base of the beverage container causes the rupture portion to open, allowing mixing of the chemical and the liquid. The chemical and the liquid react in an endothermic reaction, cooling the contents of the beverage container.

    摘要: A method of insulating pipeline bundles used in recovering hydrocarbons from wells is disclosed. A polymeric substance, such as an orthphosphate ester, is injected into the annulus between a carrier pipe and the hydrocarbon conveying tubulars. A ferric salt, such as ferric sulphate, may be added as a gelling agent. The mixture results in a gel having a dynamic viscosity of greater than (1000) PaS. The gel insulates the inner hydrocarbon-conveying tubulars from the surrounding seawater thus helping to maintain the relatively high temperature therewithin. This in turn reduces the likelihood for chemicals, such as hydrates, to be precipitated out of the oil phase.
