摘要: A receiver adapted to receive a signal having at least first and second carrier frequencies on which first and second information signals are modulated, respectively. The inventive receiver further includes circuitry for converting the received signal to a complex baseband signal. In the illustrative embodiment, the received signal includes first and second ensembles. The first ensemble includes a first signal from a first source, a first signal from a second source and a first signal from a third source. The second ensemble includes a second signal from the first source, a second signal from the second source and a second signal from the third source. The receiver is adapted to selectively output the first and/or the second ensemble. Conversion of the band is achieved with quad mixers. The outputs of the mixers are digitized and selectively provided as the first and/or the second ensemble by a digital translation stage.

摘要: An interoperable receiver adapted to receive signals in multiple SDARS bands. The advantageous operation is afforded by the design of the receiver by which an entire band consisting of multiple carriers is received at one time. Receipt and processing of each SDARS band signals is then effectuated by retuning a synthesizer as necessary. In the illustrative embodiment, the invention further includes circuitry for simultaneously receiving first and second ensembles. The first ensemble including a first signal from a first source, a first signal from a second source and a first signal from a third source. The second ensemble including a second signal from the first source, a second signal from the second source and a second signal from the third source. In a preferred embodiment, the inventive receiver is adapted to receive and output audio signals along with data signals simultaneously.

摘要: A method and apparatus for receiving dispatch messages in a broadcast radio receiver. In one embodiment, audio dispatch messages can be received, in another embodiment, data dispatch messages can be received. In either embodiment, a previously selected broadcast channel is received until a dispatch alert message is simultaneously received. The dispatch alert message includes a dispatch ID codes which is compared by the receiver with a previously stored dispatch ID code. If equality is found, the receiver switches from the previously selected broadcast channel to a dispatch broadcast channel to receive the dispatch message. Upon completion of the dispatch message, the receiver automatically switches back to the previously selected broadcast channel.

摘要: A system and method provide efficient, secure, and highly reliable authentication for transaction processing and/or access control applications. A personal digital key (PDK) is programmed using a trusted programming device to initialize and/or register the PDK for use. In one embodiment, the initialization and registration processes are administered by a specialized trusted Notary to ensure the processes follow defined security procedures. In a biometric initialization, the programming device acquires a biometric input from a user and writes the biometric data to a tamperproof memory in the PDK. In registration, the Programmer communicates to one or more remote registries to create or update entries associated with the user PDK. Once initialized and registered, the PDK can be used for various levels of secure authentication processes.

摘要: An inspection system for inspecting a surface of a wafer/mask/reticle can include a modular array. The modular array can include a plurality of time delay integration (TDI) sensor modules, each TDI sensor module having a TDI sensor and a plurality of localized circuits for driving and processing the TDI sensor. At least one of the localized circuits can control a clock associated with the TDI sensor. At least one light pipe can be used to distribute a source illumination to the plurality of TDI sensor modules. The plurality of TDI sensor modules can be positioned capture a same inspection region or different inspection regions. The plurality of TDI sensor modules can be identical or provide for different integration stages. Spacing of the modules can be arranged to provide 100% coverage of the inspection region in one pass or for fractional coverage requiring two or more passes for complete coverage.

摘要: Methods of using water-soluble hydrophobically modified polymers to treat intervals of a subterranean formation having variable permeabilities. An exemplary embodiment provides a method of treating an interval of a subterranean formation having a permeability that varies. The method comprises contacting the interval with a water-soluble hydrophobically modified polymer capable of selectively reducing the effective permeability of the interval to water without a comparable reduction of the effective permeability of the interval to hydrocarbons. The hydrophobically modified polymer modifies the interval to have a more uniform permeability without substantially preventing the flow of fluids through the interval. The method further comprises introducing a treatment fluid into the interval. The more uniform permeability of the interval allows for a more uniform treatment of the interval by the treatment fluid than would be allowed without treatment of the interval with the hydrophobically modified polymer.
