摘要： An implant may provide a body capable of being fit in an intervertebral space and a spin-plate rotatable with respect to the body. The spin-plate may a blade. The blade may possess grooves in its flat faces, or may be provided with an overhang. The path of the overhang or groove may be such that as the spin-plate advances in its rotation, a vertebra engaged with the blade is drawn toward the body of the implant. Pins may be placed in adjacent vertebrae such as to engage the spin-plate. Surgical methods are also described.

摘要： A delivery instrument for placing an interbody implant into an intervertebral space of a patient comprises a plurality of elongated plates disposed adjacent one another. Each elongated plate has a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion is sized and shaped to fit into the intervertebral space, and is configured to engage a vertebral body in the intervertebral space. An expandable member is coupled to the plurality of elongated plates so as to form an enclosed tube that is sized and shaped to receive the interbody implant. The expandable member allows for translation of the plurality of elongated plates relative to one another as the interbody implant passes through the tube.

In some embodiments, there is a rib, and the rotatable member is engaged at one end with the wall and at the other end with the rib. In some embodiments, the spinal cage is provided with holes for screws that can be directed at adjacent vertebrae for fixation. Such a spinal cage can be used with the spin-plate or with the screws. The screws and the spinal cage may have features that cooperate to prevent back-out of the screws.

摘要： Embodiments are disclosed which provide a spinal cage with a wall extending in a longitudinal direction defining an interior space. There is also provided a spin-plate that may be assembled into the spinal cage. The spin-plate may comprise a blade and a disc on a common shaft, and may be rotatable from an undeployed position to a deployed position. In some embodiments, the spin-plate may be assembled into the spinal cage by a translational motion perpendicular to a rotational axis of the spin-plate. The spin-plate may be captured in the spinal cage for certain angular positions. In some embodiments, there may be a snap-in feature when the spin-plate is assembled into the spinal cage, and there may be a rotational feature such that increased torque is required to advance beyond certain points.
