摘要: A carton loading system has a carton carrier movable along a carton carrier support track driven by a continuous conveyor. The continuous conveyor has a first path segment in which the continuous conveyor drives the carton carrier along the track while a carton is placed into the carton carrier from a carton storage magazine by a carton transfer device. The continuous conveyor also has a second segment with a first portion arranged such that the conveyor is disengaged from the carton carrier to allow the carrier to a stop, permitting loading of the carton. At the loading station an accumulator may be positioned to load the carton. The second portion of the second segment is such that conveyor re-engages the carton carrier so that the carton carrier moves again along the track. The carton may be discharged from the carton carrier while the carton carrier moves along the track. The system may be adapted to provide for adjustable components such that cartons of differing depths can be accommodated.

摘要: A system is disclosed for loading a plurality of items into a plurality of containers. The system may include a plurality of pucks, each puck adapted to retain an item. A puck delivery sub-system may include a puck-infeed conveyor to move each of the pucks along an in-feed conveyor path, and a transition apparatus operable to facilitate the transition of the pucks to a continuous puck unloading conveyor. The puck un-loading conveyor may have a releasable engagement mechanism such that when each of the pucks is engaged with said puck unloading conveyor, each of said pucks is fixed in a relative longitudinal position relative to the puck unloading conveyor. An item transfer apparatus may transfer an item from each puck when engaged with the puck un-loading conveyor, to a corresponding container.

摘要: A system for loading a plurality of items in series into a receptacle held in an item holding device, comprises a plurality of item holding devices each adapted for holding an item receptacle adapted to hold a plurality of items. A holding device moving apparatus such as a conveyor, moves the plurality of item holding devices through an item loading station with the item receptacles being oriented at a first angle to the horizontal. An item delivery apparatus delivers a plurality of items separately in series at an item orientation that is at a second angle to the item receptacles. The item delivery apparatus may include a metering device comprising a wheel member having a plurality of generally radially extending, generally equally spaced finger members, with all adjacent finger members being configured at a distance there between proximate end portions of said adjacent finger members. The radial position of the fingers, and thus the distance between end portions, is adjustable.

摘要: A system can re-orient a series of objects, such as containers, including pouches, from a first orientation that is one of several possible orientations, to a pre-selected second orientation. The system includes an orientation apparatus that can move a series of objects from their first orientation to the pre-selected second orientation by a movement sequence. The system includes a sensor system, such as a vision system, for detecting which of said several orientations is the first orientation. The orientation apparatus responds to a signal from said sensor, and performs a pre-determined movement sequence based on the detected first orientation.

摘要: A load accumulator for accumulating a load which consists of a plurality of items and transferring the accumulated load into a receptacle of a carton loading machine. The accumulator has a load accumulator spool which has a plurality of pockets formed therein at circumferentially spaced intervals about its perimeter. A transfer channel extends circumferentially of the spool from its perimeter to a radial depth which is greater than that of the inner end of each pocket. A load accumulating platform is provided which has a load arresting extension which extends into the transfer channel and serves to arrest the movement of the load articles which are carried by the spool such that the load items are discharged onto the platform in a side-by-side relationship. A backstop is slidably mounted on the platform for movement toward and away from the spool. A front stop is arranged opposite the backstop and is mounted for movement between a retracted position in which it is located within the transfer channel inwardly of the inner end of the pockets and an advanced position in which it overlies the platform and is located outwardly from the perimeter of the spool to cooperate with the backstop to form lateral guideways for guiding the lateral transfer of the accumulated load from the platform into a receptacle. A pusher is located at one side of the platform for pushing the accumulated load along the lateral guideways into a receptacle located at the other side of the platform.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for engaging and releasing a plurality of items. The apparatus comprises a frame having a longitudinally extending support member and at least one group of engagement unit. Each engagement unit has at least one engagement member, and each engagement unit is adapted for engaging, and disengaging from at least one item. Each of the engagement units in the one group is mounted in series for longitudinal movement on the longitudinal support member, and each one of the plurality of engagement units is interconnected to at least one other of the plurality of engagement units. A movement apparatus is provided for engaging at least one but not all of the plurality of engagement units in the one group to displace the group longitudinally on the longitudinal support member.

摘要: In a carton loading machine, there is provided a mechanism which will initially displace one row of cylindrical-shaped objects with respect to its adjacent row such that load items in one row are located in a staggered relationship with respect to the load items in the adjacent row. The load items are then displaced into the open end of a container. When the assembled load is substantially fully located within the container, the movement of one row is arrested while the movement of the other row continues until the items of the adjacent rows are arranged in a side-by-side relationship. This serves to permit the width of the accumulated load to be reduced until the load is substantially fully located in a carton and thereafter the load is rearranged to its maximum width to fit in a close fitting relationship within the carton. In addition, the carton loading machine has a load transporting conveyor which extends in a continuous path from a load accumulating station through a load separating station and load transfer station and back to the load accumulating station with the load supporting surface of the conveyor horizontally arranged so that it is capable of returning a load which is not displaced into a carton to the load accumulating station so that it can be recycled without the need to halt the operation of the machine.

摘要: In a load transporting conveyor of the type which has a plurality of load confining compartments located thereon which are transported by the conveyor along a load transporting path, there is provided a load settling mechanism. The load settling mechanism includes a load support platform which forms a bottom wall of each compartment. Resilient suspension members support the bottom wall with respect to the conveyor such that it is free to vibrate with respect to the conveyor. A vibration activator mechanism is located along the load transporting path so as to engage successive load support platforms as they are transported along the load transporting path to cause the load support platform to vibrate to thereby vibrate any load which is located thereon to cause the load to settle into the load confining compartment.

摘要: A carton loading machine has an endless carton conveyor which extends in a horizontal path which in plan view extends in a generally square configuration. A plurality of carton receptacles are mounted on the endless conveyor for movement therewith. Retainer bars are arranged opposite the open ends of the receptacles along at least three sides of the square configuration of the path and these retainer bars are mounted for simultaneous movement with respect to the receptacles so that the space between the retainer bar and the oppositely disposed wall of the receptacle can be adjusted to accommodate articles of different sizes. A further retainer bar is located below the open lower end of the receptacles and extends along at least two sides of the square configuration of the conveyor path. These second retainer bars are also simultaneously adjustable in height with respect to the receptacles so as to accommodate cartons of different length in the receptacles.
