摘要: The present invention includes interactive communication systems that incorporate several beneficial embodiments including an interactive tray system, an electronic presentation messaging system, an interactive podium, and a key drive system. The interactive tray system enables a single, transferable interactive unit to be fastened to a communication medium, turning into a fully interactive medium. The electronic presentation messaging system enables the e-mailing of presentations and notes to and from components of the interactive communication system. The interactive podium increases conventional podium mobility, enabling both the presenter, and podium, to move and be moved about the room without attention to wired connections. The key drive system replaces the conventional Y-connector of the key drive technology by effectively integrating the key drive in the device, thus only having one connector, and eliminating the need to change connectors from the key drive, to the USB connector, upon software driver loading.

摘要: An electronic whiteboard system and assembly with optical detection elements is disclosed. The electronic whiteboard system includes a writing/display surface and a retroreflective perimeter surrounding the edge of the surface. A user can mark upon the surface or interact with an image displayed on the surface using an input device. The perimeter can reflect light beams emitted from optical detection elements located at the corners of the surface to identify the position of the input device relative to the writing surface and/or projected image. The electronic whiteboard assembly includes one or more electronic whiteboard systems coupled together with a connector element having two retroreflective surfaces.

摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to patient monitoring systems and, more particularly, to signal analysis for patient monitoring systems. In one embodiment, a method of analyzing a detector signal of a physiological patient sensor includes obtaining the detector signal from the physiological patient sensor, wherein the detector signal crosses a horizontal boundary more than once. The method also includes determining the relative time and the slope of the detector signal at each boundary crossing. The method further includes estimating the amplitude of the detector signal based, at least in part, on the determined relative time and slope of the detector signal at each boundary crossing. The method also includes determining a physiological parameter of a patient based, at least in part, on the estimate of the amplitude of the detector signal.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for determining the pulse rate of a patient from multiple fiducial points using Gaussian kernel smoothing. Based on acquired pleth signals, each recorded fiducial pulse period is converted to a Gaussian kernel function. The Gaussian kernel functions for all recorded fiducial points are summed to generate a Gaussian kernel smoothed curve. The pulse rate of a patient may be determined from the Gaussian kernel smoothed curve. All acquired fiducial pulse periods contribute to generate the Gaussian kernel smoothing curve. The number of fiducial points utilized may change to improve pulse rate determination or provide additional functionality to the system.

摘要: Methods and systems are discussed for determining venous oxygen saturation by calculating a ratio of ratios from respiration-induced baseline modulations. A calculated venous ratio of ratios may be compared with a look-up table value to estimate venous oxygen saturation. A calculated venous ratio of ratios is compared with an arterial ratio of ratios to determine whether baseline modulations are the result of a subject's respiration or movement. Such a determination is also made by deriving a venous ratio of ratios using a transform technique, such as a continuous wavelet transform. Derived venous and arterial saturation values are used to non-invasively determine a cardiac output of the subject.

摘要: A gate below an elevator car which prevents access to an elevator hoistway. The gate slidably mounts behind a toe guard and retracts upwardly if the bottom of the gate encounters a person, object or the floor of the elevator pit during downward travel of the elevator. The gate latches when fully retracted so that it may be out of the way during maintenance. A microswitch is wired into the emergency stop circuit that engages when the gate is latched. A trip wire defining the bottom edge of the gate is also wired into the emergency stop circuit, so that the elevator will stop its downward travel if it encounters an obstruction. Rubber bumpers on the bottom edge of the gate cushion impact to people or objects who happen to be below the elevator car and are struck by the gate during downward elevator movement.
