摘要: A three dimensional [3D] video signal (21) comprises a first primary data stream (22) representing a left image to be displayed for the left eye of a viewer and a second primary data stream representing a right image to be displayed for the right eye of the viewer for rendering 3D video data exhibiting a nominal depth range. For enabling overlaying auxiliary image data on the 3D video data at an auxiliary depth in the nominal depth range a secondary data stream (23) is included in the signal. The secondary data stream is displayed, during overlaying, for one of the eyes instead of the respective primary data stream for rendering the 3D video data exhibiting a modified depth range farther away from the viewer than the auxiliary depth.

The invention also relates to a method and device for playback of such a signal, the method comprising receiving the video information and the associated playback information, processing the display information to determine that both two-dimensional (2D) display possible and three-dimensional (3D) display are possible for the received video information; determining a playback setting of a playback device indicating whether the video information should be displayed two-dimensional (2D) or three dimensional (3D); and processing for display either the primary video stream or the primary video stream and the additional information stream, in accordance with the playback setting of the playback device.

The user control means are arranged for receiving user actions and generating corresponding control signals. A graphical data structure is provided representing a graphical control element for display in the 3D graphical user interface. The graphical data structure has two dimensional [2D] image data for representing the graphical control element, and also at least one depth parameter for positioning the 2D image data at a depth position in the 3D graphical user interface.

摘要: Providing entry points for 3D video data is described; an entry point unit (18) generates an entry point table by defining entry points in an incoming 3D video data stream and storing entry point addresses giving the location of the defined entry points; the video data stream comprises a multitude of sub-streams, which multitude encodes one stream of 3D 5 video data and comprises at least one 2D sub-stream that independently encodes a 2D version of the 3D video data and at least one auxiliary sub-stream that dependently encodes part of the 3D video data; the entry points include main entry points in the 2D sub-stream and auxiliary entry points in the auxiliary sub-stream for enabling 3D trickplay of the 3D video data by retrieving and decoding non-adjacent fragments of the 2D sub-stream and retrieving 10 and dependently decoding corresponding fragments of the auxiliary sub-stream.

摘要: A non-transitory three-dimensional image signal includes a first image component, a second component for creating a three-dimensional image in combination with the first image component, and a text component that includes text-based subtitles and/or presentation graphics-based bitmap images for including in the three-dimensional image. A shared Z-location component includes Z-location information describing the depth location of the text component within the three-dimensional image. The signal is rendered by rendering the three-dimensional image from the first image component and the second component. The rendering includes rendering the text-based subtitles and/or presentation graphics-based bitmap images in the three-dimensional image. Further, the rendering of the text component includes adjusting the depth location of the text-based subtitles and/or presentation graphics-based bitmap images based on the shared Z-location component. The Z-location for both text-based and presentation-graphics-based subtitles may be the same and only needs to be stored once per stream.

摘要: A system for transferring 3D video information has a transmitter (100) to broadcast a signal (104) to a receiver (110). The 3D video information includes auxiliary data for display in an overlay area on the 3D video data, like subtitles. The 3D video data has a left view and a right view arranged in a 2D frame in a main arrangement, e.g. side-by-side. An auxiliary left and right view of the auxiliary data are arranged in an auxiliary data stream according to a 2D transmission format in an auxiliary arrangement that corresponds to the main arrangement, e.g. also side-by-side. In addition, a 2D version of the auxiliary data and auxiliary disparity data indicative of the disparity to be applied to the 2D version of auxiliary data when overlayed on the left view and the right view is included in the transport stream. Advantageously the receiver may use a suitable version of the auxiliary data based on the receiver processing architecture.

According to the invention a user access policy is maintained that restricts, for the organization application, access to the resources of the rendering device relative to the access policy of the organization. The user access policy is adjusted based on additional trust data for selectively allowing the organization application to access the resources according to the access policy of the organization. Hence the user controls the access that applications have to resources of the rendering device.
