Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for rejecting unreliable downlink (DL) transmit power control (TPC) commands based on signal-to-interference-ratio estimates (SIRE). The method includes receiving by a user equipment (UE) a DL transmit power control (TPC) command from a base station; calculating a signal-to-interference ratio estimate (SIRE) for the DL channel; determining a scaling factor for a DLTPC rejection threshold based on the DL channel SIRE; adjusting the DLTPC rejection threshold based on the determined scaling factor; and rejecting or accepting the DLTPC command based on the adjusted DLTPC rejection threshold.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for wireless communication for improving the call performance and power consumption during the connection state of a user equipment (UE). Aspects of the methods and apparatus relate to receiving a transmit power control (TPC) command from a network entity and decoding every TPC slot of the TPC command. Aspects of the methods and apparatus include ceasing the decoding of a TPC slot set when the current decoded symbol of the TPC slot is in disagreement with the previous decoded symbol of the TPC slot. The receiver of the UE is then deactivated until the end of the TPC slot set.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for rejecting unreliable downlink (DL) transmit power control (TPC) commands in windup mode. In one aspect, the method includes receiving by a user equipment (UE) a plurality of DLTPC commands from a base station, analyzing on one or more transmitted uplink (UL) TPC commands, detecting a windup mode based on the one or more DLTPC and ULTPC commands, and rejecting one or more DLTPC down commands in the windup mode.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for performing cell selection for reducing an initial acquisition time between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity, comprising measuring a signal from a cell, the signal including at least one system information block (SIB), wherein the at least one SIB includes a plurality of cell selection threshold values; attempting to decode the at least one SIB; determining, in response to successfully decoding the at least one SIB, whether one or more measurements of the signal pass or fail a cell selection criteria check that includes the plurality of cell selection threshold values; determining, in response to the cell selection criteria check failing, whether the plurality of cell selection threshold values are within range of a plurality of corresponding minimum network threshold values; and performing a cell selection procedure on the cell in response to determining that the plurality of cell selection threshold values are within range of the plurality of corresponding minimum network threshold values.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for wireless communication and cell monitoring and handover using a downlink dedicated physical channel (DL-DPCH) traffic-to-pilot ratio (TPR) are presented. For example, a method of mobile communication at a user equipment (UE) is presented, which may include starting a time-to-trigger (TTT) interval associated with a neighbor cell in preparation for potential handover of the UE to the neighbor cell according to network-assigned parameters. In addition, the example method may include monitoring a TPR associated with a DL-DPCH of a serving cell of the UE. Furthermore, the example method may include determining that the TPR exceeds a TPR threshold and shortening the TTT interval upon that determination. Moreover, the example method may include transmitting, based on the shortened TTT interval, a Measurement Report Message (MRM) to a network to add the neighbor cell to an active set associated with the UE.
